As few might know from threads on posts , that ive had bull breeds , staffs ,pits ,bullmastiffs , and latter bred, showed them in the early 80s, and was in to these breeds well before lurchers , and always have soft spot for some bull breeds, and prob prefer the temp of them , to any lurcher ive had if i am honest .Well a mate of mine got a 18 month old Boerboel bitch, and she is a cracker in temp and looks i think , a real nice animal . He knows my views on bullmastiffs , that i came out of the breed because of all the health probs HD = hip /elbow , eye probs, and poor temps, a

as penda said theys few here that are good gsd's and knowing where t o find them, and you find all the top ones will have alot of E/Europe lines in there peds. if you put the real effort in you will find them, some people prob go for easy option and get show crap, that cant move and full of HD , waste of good dog and terrible to see in any dog . A dog that would come very close to a well bred gsd , is a well bred dutch Shepard , same again not show crap, the dutch are fit, healthy and very full on temps, most are bigger than mals . i knew a bloke who picked out pups for the army

ive seen some very good lurchers doing that job, when i used beat at weston park, there was bloke there who used a collie x grey , and was great it didnt get to far a head , and knocked lot of birds up , ok it prob nail the odd sitter , but saw gundogs do that as well, and this dog was soft mouthed as well. my dog be no good, he be ok until a rabbit or fox/deer got up , then he be off out of sight lol . when we were beating we knocked few foxes up , so you never know what may pop out as well as birds

true that , i worked for a bloke who had racing kennel at my old place where i lived, and alot of the dog there dogs and bitches , in my opion would tackle big deer and kill foxes all solo, they were deff up for any wild animal that ran from them. when we walked them , we all had 4 dogs at a time to take out all these dogs knew each other as they see them on the same walk every day, but feck me they still fight it you ever got to close to each other with the other person dogs, and greyyhound do alot of damage very quick, they are very strong dogs with good jaw on them. But in saying this

apart from michael johnson who does know what he talking about, and can put a good point over, the rest are crap. gabby logan is just filling air space , deniece williams is prob the worst bbc reporter on the box, they sacked her from mid/today, colin jackson just rambles on the same thing over and over again and that black lad who was on strictly know feck all about athletics . i think with Bolt and Farrow left the sport, and the above in it talking about, they will kill it off big time, they will loose alot of viewers 100% .!!!

+2 , deff , i will be honest here me and him never really got on, in his last 6 months of life , he was dying with stomach cancer , he never showed fear to me or my 2 brothers , 2 sisters , he always said to me as the eldest son, live for to day forget tomorrow . the last week, he called us in one at a time to speak to him he told me he loved me and was proud of me as man, and he loved his grand son my lad, that was the last thing he ever said to me, i hope when i die , i am as brave as him , and show dignity in death

Without going into to much detail the wife had a breakdown some years ago ,any suggestion of a doctor was treated as an admission of guilt on her part, until a major episode led to her going to see them....I regularly turned up for work marked up,face clawed, split lips etc etc ,never told anyone, but I think they knew.Real low point was a christening, turning up suited and booted with a face that looked like a wolverine had attacked it,and trying to pass it off as eczema ffs. This was near 10 yrs ago,she did get help in the end and things improved,it was a rough time but we got through it and its

Bushing Dogs Or Other Breeds For Beating
bird replied to BUSHY1's topic in Driven, Walked Up, Rough Shooting
true, both my lurcher are 1/2 xs and the alsatian and the collie comes through them alot, as both have good noses for finding game, and Buck my big 1x gsd x grey goes into cover , yeh thats right lol just like a over grown springer lol . But i have seen few big springers and labs when beating thats gone in cover , so it was no surprise to see my 2 dogs doing the same job.And infact ive had some great bit of sport with them mooching etc, norm Buck goes in and knock out whats in there and old Bryn will grab it it when it bolts out great crack deff Buck going -
ok thanks, will check them every 4-5 days
-
just bit of info , how long do you leave them down, before checking , ? it only in my garden, norm in along the borders lawn/flowerbed i get the runs , been doing not to bad getting them , norm i leave for a week , then check .

yeh there loads doing it , these bloody cockerpoos , labdoodles, sprockers , etc all will knock a hole in to £ 900 quid, all still x breeds, i get there back up when meet them, and tell them my 2 1xs Bryn was £ 40 quid , and Buck the same £40 quid , they carnt talk there in shock lol , being honest more so for a lurcher 100- 180£ quid i pay, and make great pets and catch your dinner if need be, plenty in the pound for £ 50 quid
