If it's smelling it's infected already and you need some decent strength antibiotics,had my russell take some stick before xmas and my vet told me (i did know but had forgot just how good it is)to get some manuca honey and just pack his holes and wounds with it and be feck mate it's stuff from the gods the way it helps heals and don't scrimp on part manuca honey get the proper stuff and it's the best £10 you will spend for a while..

If you don't take a fishing rod to south west wales with you then your'll do nothing but sit and wish you had when you see the coast it has to offer mate ,down around St Davids up to Cardigan has loads of campsites right next to the sea and they don't ever really seem to get crowded even in summer hols time and plenty of other things to do with the kids that way as well..

Just mind getting a cottage near the Presseli (yeah spelling boyo's )mountains in summer as the midges in the evening will eat you and your kids alive,happened to us a couple of few years back and our car the clutch,fly wheel gave out so we were sort of stuck up there until the holiday was over and the AA could take us home.But west Wales is a awesome place with a awesome coastline with loads of clean beaches for the kids and rocks for the dads to fish off..

Call it what you want but try telling a norfolk born and bred gamekeeper or farmer your going to leave the cubs he's phoned you about because you want to leave them till next year so there'll give you a better dig to a terrier before you let it go again .But you are right it would be killing your sport as you'd either kill those that give you the permission through laughing at you or they'd tell you to feck off and you'd have feck all to dig anywhere.On one shoot i help on there's a wood with a few earths in and we just ain't allowed to try them till the 3rd weekend in feb as due to the shoot'

There used to a doberman that lived in my village,a few times i had i seen it running back to where it lived with a hare hanging from it's mouth as it had some stamina and would just run them down.Spoke to the owner once and he said the same a scatter brained thing that when it ran off he'd just go home as he knew the dog would go back at some point as he only walked it "out the back fields of his house"..Would i use one over my lurcher bitch?, why the feck would i want to?.....

Iv'e always wondered why pics of the parents or families have never been released as i recon the one that's out and about would be visiting them come xmas,birthday times then there's be a target and the old bill knew one day the little shits would be released so held back due to my very reasons..

Dug a fox last year with the top bit of skin between it's shoulders missing due to a to high shot,it was starting to fester and we smelt it before we smelt it was a fox as such...

31 times he was hit by bricks ,they kicked him in the head dozens of times amd beat him with sticks then laid him on a railway so a train would chop him in half,facts we know and if that ain't bad enough the other things they did to him are to bad to report..Ffs beyond believing how evil these kids were and there parents must carry part the blame as all my lads when they were ten knew sodding right from wrong...

Twas a common thing to see a little sibling being dragged around by a bigger brother or sister years ago,i know i was by my big sister or brother when i was little and my big brother would have me and my little brother in tears all the time as he didn't want us with him.That's why i recon some didn't stop them and it sort of took such a thing to happen to open folks eyes.I cried when i watched it and ain't ashamed of saying so and to this day i feel so fecking helpless for that little lad and his parents,i'm the dad of 5 lads,3 my own,2 step lads and i love them all just the same but one of th

I went and found a litter of 8 cubs last year on a local farm when i heard a fella had shot a milky vixen and dog fox,fecking hate the thought of cubs starving so i took it upon myself to go find them and sort them.

Cubs are shitty work,a pain for any dog but if were to say to any of the keepers i know,"no mate sorry my season has ended" then i know i'd be doing feck all on those shoots next year.Same as letting anything go when the keepers are with us,not a chance and iv'e pushed my luck before now just saying "i wish we could move them like we could before the ban" as feck being stopped by the old bill with a fox in a box and terriers and spades in the motor these days.I have 3 shoots i'm just not allowed on during pop pop season although we'd get a few extra foxes from the earths but the keepers are ju

A old pal of mine who i consider one of my closest friends so i totaly believe him snared a 29lb fox in warwickshire just 2 weeks ago,he showed me a pic of it and it wasn't a massive fox, when he picked it up it felt so much heavier than it looked so he weighed it with his fishing scales.One keeper round me on an estate has a 24lb fox he shot stuffed and has seen many times but can never get close to a shot on it a fox that is a third the size bigger than his stuffed one and this winter he shot a vixen just over 20 lb..

Believe or not some folk mock the plummer terrier ,tis true they do and many say there good for nothing but for a young lad getting going that dog will be perfect.I got a new plummer pup myself and at 7 months she's going well on the rats and is on the right track.she didn't catch all those rats either...

Had a mare with one just before xmas,was walking the dogs on land iv'e walked a 100 times and my russell who went blind over the summer found a pipe that was holding,long story short,run home get locator,spades and my old plummer bitch.had to put her in as the russell had gone silent.Got them out in the end and what a night mare that was in it self but a sharp reminder of not walking a working terrier anywhere without a locator on even if you THINK you know the ground...

A English estuary trio,mullet,bass and sea trout from the same river.Had the bass and mullet last year along with a pal then went up for a sea trout and a good sized fish swam into the swim,it looked at my worm on the first run through and i was reeling in for a recast when my pal cast his worm in and bagged it and got the trio for himself.
