  1. If it makes for better breeding then who is the bellend .The thought and trials that goes into a line are lost on loads of dogmen who are gifted pups ,thats gifted mind for free not sold for profit ,so if theres strings attached then only a an untrustworthy person goes against it .Years of breeding deserve more ,like to like or better no backwards moves .If you are the man i think you are Zerky you will do the right thing mate .
  2. I suppose all the moaners on here have never put a bad pic up ,have never allowed pics to be used in books or done anything detrimental to the sport .Lose the f***ing halos ffs its getting boring like most of the threads on here now .We are not ashamed ,we will never stop ,we will never bow to those who want to finish us so stop wallowing in self pity and enjoy what we do .
  3. Found nowt so its the rifle that will do the job .Did see a fox but other side the river .Soaked but happy .
  4. Off now and its cats and dogs here too .Does make it feel like winter again though .
  5. Excellent mate .my lad is into it big time as well and theres nothing finer than seeing them progress .Did his first gralloch other day unaided and very clean .Good pics ,good shooting and time well spent with your boy .
  6. Yep ,sounds about right but ive no hangups at all.
  7. I have the unfortunate job of looking for cubs this afternoon after farmer snared the vic for lamb killing .The size of lamb killed is bigger than ive ever seen but defo a fox .Farmer saw cubs last night abòut cat size so may be spread out a bit .This is a place that i hammer all year with rifle and dog ,all earths checked early spring but still theres a litter moved from elsewhere no doubt
  8. Terrers are a small part of fox control when done properly.Essential all the same when it matters but on keepered estates the snare and the rifle will do the majority.Anyone who thinks they can control fox to an exceptable keepered level with terriers alone is deluded frankly out of touch with what exactly is on the ground .
  9. Matt has access to the best deer dog in Wiltshire should he need it
  10. Had similar mate but put it down to dog being in very tight ,quarry too.
  11. Thanks to Martin for putting that straight .A lad thats been there and done it .
  12. About 1/4 of a kennel when shredded .
  13. Not if their heart is on the work mate .Coin steers a man to breed from anything just to see retuŕn but work has its own reward as does giving a pup to trusted lads .Again i ask what happens to a dog that cost a bit but dosnt graft to suit .Its a cull but would the owner be too hung up on the money to do anything about it or seek reimbersment that will never happen .
  14. If you ask this question you clearly have no idea what a jagd terrier is What is a jagd terrier then. like as been said why jagd terrier why not buy a well bred patterdale for example?? Why not earn the right to get given one
  15. My favourite ,see there is a local ringing program in place .
  16. What happens when ,on spending that amount of money ,the animal dosnt quite meet expectations for work .Is it culled or kept regardless .I know the Germans wont tolerate shite but coin spent would surely override a bullet .JMO mind lol.
  17. They were both called in the rut one after the other if memory serves me well.We must get out again soon mate .
  18. You will no doubt know that blue gums meant oxygen starvation at some point ,sorry for your loss though mate .
  19. A big man called tony smart is or was the huntsmen when I used to go out with them only went to the meets when they where in north Wiltshire area great summerford and places like thatOn my doorstep mate.Might have met you .Do you remember the phsyco dog ,black rough haired pat .
  20. You can discount any gas mate as you would be first to know about it on breakthrough .Did you examine dog at all ,what colour were the gums .Sorry to be insensitive but was you who brought this to our attention .IMO your dog died from heart attack due to heat exhaustion.RIP Russell.Hazard of working a dog this time of year .
  21. Exactly mate .The scale we are talking about would blow any theory .
  22. From reading that you would need to breed huge amount to arrive at the recommended % related to achieve results .This needs to be taken in context as regards terrier breeding on a small scale and not a nationwide pedigree .Cousin to cousin would be a rare mating given most only breed to satisfy a few needs .All lines i know of far exceed whats written here as exceptable with no detrimental results .
