    If a quarry is found not far from an entrance and dog bayed on its tail to a stop ,which should be obvious from initial contact ,then i guess its ok but for a dog to bay whilst searching dry on a mark must be frustrating . Not seen it yet but i think i may question the reason IMO .

    This thread has been a homage to Stevens granted but when it suited he was full as shit as the next big name ,take it from me he had days when he couldnt lie straight in his bed .DD has been very modest in his achievements and gentlemenly in his comments about Stevens.i on the other hand care not what others think ,its all about the terrier for me not the man that bred it .

    You will hear some say an outcross should be far removed from your own stock but this is not the case .Root stock of any type that is kept by different lads will go different paths ,different studs .This is imo the perfect outcross .To go far outside is too much of a gamble .Some similarities have to been present or a short fix is all it will offer ,been there done that never again .Your are only looking to reinvigorate not change .A swap pup is ideal for this as both parties benefit .To fold in a quick fix is too much of a gamble but others may have different veiws im sure . Might be wrong

    he wrote about it in the book about him,cant remember the dogs name...must be a pure sickner when a good one goes blind so he did, I saw it myself, so how many generations are your dogs now from original dogs out of his yard f d? Will read the bible again as missed that first time flicking through the pictures lol.The stock i got hold of was what Stevens left behind at the Beaufort when he moved to the Portman .It was entrusted to a lad that was a bit free with matings it transpired .I blagged 3 bitches in lew of 3 back which hes yet to take .This would of been 15-16 years back .Im 4 gens

    Did you get said bitch from Wheeler mate and how much DID you pay .He was quite sketchy on breeding the one time I visited and I've since gleaned what I needed from others though been lead a bit predictably .One gap needed is Razors sire .Wheeler pointed at a dog that was barely older than him .pm if preferred . no Wheeler blood in my terriers Foxdropper, my first bitch sire was from Poker put to a daughter of Smithy and Rags , her dam was bred from nuttalls penny punch via Blitz2 , she cost me £45 at 6 weeks old a week and half wages then lol My mistake mate ,just thought your avatar was
