  1. Of course Ive got pics but until someone shows me how to get them on here, text will have to do.Does anyone out there know the whitewarrior and I mean really know the lad as he will vouch for me.As to the bitch shes a Nuttall bred black of 31/2yrs.Got her from a lad down at the Silverton, Devon.
  2. Are you telling me youve never listened at a hole to find the direction to start locating in.Bit of advice- youll save a lt of time wandering about if you can walk in the direction of the sound!.
  3. Just because the dig was not straight forword ,I suppose your tiny brain cant take it in.sad very sad. :realmad:
  4. To Dillan.-You seem to be the only one with any experience of my kind of single handed digging , of course I used the torch to see what I was shooting!. Im new to this computer lark but , but unlike most of the people who replied previous to you, digging is something I have always done. Why do 70% of my replies not believe a word of it. Might it be they dont get out much?I personally would give someone the O.k until I knew better. The dig was 20 paces from the hole if you none believers want to split hairs. The spoil outside the hole was no more than the other 2 but well trampled
  5. Went out for to try a 3 holer on a farm nearby this evening ,cutting it a bit fine with the fading light.Parked as close as poss to give myself valuable minutes of daylight, and save a half mile walk.Place in question was padded to fu@k just as it was last week.Collared up the bitch near to a steaming entrance only to see her fly to the far end and disappear into one covered in leaves[dont you feel humbled when they know best].Anyway it wasnt long before she spoke in this small [or so I thought] place. We had always dug this spot same place ,about 10 ft back from the entrances and just off to t
  6. Are those the long greyhound type hobs?personnel choice I suppose but the jills are smaller, faster and Idont want to put you off but I once had a hob return with his knackers half off!. Decent ratting ferrets are like the terrier that stays to his quarry week after week.
  7. Any body still use ferrets for ratting?what ive found in the past is that a place ferretted never recovers as quick as when using the engines. The stink of ferrets must linger a lot longer than the fumes!.WE have found that after smoking , and the bolting is over ,if you move on to the next warren and then return after doing that, the rats that refused to bolt will have bottled up in stop ends and the dogs can mark them for you to dig with no fear of a terrier being overcome by fumes as Ive seen more than a few times.good hunting. foxdropper.
  8. To -The Master of the D-V -L+T pack. nice one mate but I didnt get the video through.
  9. what seems to be happening with the B---f--t is extreme jealousy over the right to dig a fox, they have always been posh twats, but now this is coupled with the beleif that every fox in the local country belongs to them.Digging is legal providing the landowner has a valid reason to kill a fox-ie-game birds requiring protection. The secrecy comes from guarding these spots and farms from the commen or garden terrierman, which is ajoke as we have the same permission anyway.!.Since killing with hounds is banned the only dog work legally available is the terrier, hense the posh twats gathered around a
  10. Tom-The attitude of our local pack has certainly changed since the BAN.If you read my introduction you will know who I mean. When digging the fox, anywhere ,was the norm and I mean anyones land any type of hole, the hunt was usually out of terriers by mid-morning and relied on amature terriermen for back up dogs.We did this willingly of course but now the bans here ,every fox is dug in secrecy.Fair play some will saybut my point is that if everybody had contined hunting as normal and not be dictated to we wouldnt have this us and them with insults traded behind your backs. Its no wonder some of th
  11. Foxhunter-Nice work. What calibre do u use.Personally I use a .222 and like charlie at about 100-150yds away although I know a chap who regularly takes them out to 200 with one of these HMR17s,harris bypod a must!. Know exactly what you mean about the wet nights.Next time u are out and manage to drop a fox, have a look at the stomach content of a wet night forage?.I couldnt believe it!.Keep up the good work. foxdropper.
  12. Hello diggers, doggers and ferret fondlers. My main interest lies in terrier work, either above or below and I currently own a Nuttall bred black bitch for this purpose. She was a slow starter which I took some stick over but she has made up for this by becoming a well hard worker.I also own a lurchur hybrid bitch which works to anything but the hard stuff.Fox shooting with 222 is my other passion, and Ive just had a phone call about atroublesome critter so bye for now.
  13. personally,I would take your little dog to where rats are out feeding at night, encourage the rats to feed away from holes by dumping grain amongst bags, logs, small bales, any thing you can move easily.Do this for a few nights prior to your hunt and on the night, make sure you aproach the area quietly. If your dog has anything about it, and rats are where youve fed them to ,he will mark like crazy.Move some kit to where the dog marks, rat out,dog catches rat ,rat bites dog,dog shakes rat and bingo.Failing all the above, buy a rat from apet shop!.
