No ghostly bodies seen but heres a few things to think about .My Mum passed away 15 years ago ,bless her and shortly after me and the wife were watching tele one evening when one of the old style video tapes of our wedding flipped over onto its other side on the tv stand .Later thaf evening i was making a cuppa when a noisd caught my attention in the kitchen window and a ten lence piece was spinning on the tiles .Called the wife and we both watched it slow down then stop but never fell over .I was fishing all weekend at a place called lakeside in Rowde ,wilts when on the second night ,tired i

Just out interest mate ,how much for a commission like this .pm if preffered

But only if hes had some guidance mate .The old skills are dying out fast from what i can see with tech heads the norm .Give a youth a bellman and he will dig all day take that away and see what happens .i know weve moved on but finding a terrier from other means should not be neglected .Driving a bar in over the supposed spot and putting your ear to it will give an idea if your right and by moving that about will pin point the dog .More to it obviously .

The best terrier men will get the most from a situation with or without the finder .The old Deben was far from failsafe and sometimes got damp leaving a dog to be found the old way .Electric fences sent the thing into a buzzing frenzy but dogs were still found .Buried cables ,overheads and metal all played a part in making it a lottery but still dogs were found .Todays technolgy allows for pin point everytime by anyone capable of reading numbers .Those that talk about multiple dogs years ago must have been unlucky with mentors as it wasnt happening everywhere far from it .Most on here arnt old

For my input its a lot to do with the dog and how much respect or lack of it that it shows a fox but thats only based on 30 years mind and not two lifetimes that some seem to have had lol.

Help With Zeroing Problem
Squirrel_Basher replied to ferret guru's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Mate you or the gun are obviously not wired up right .Do you think we ve never shot a rifle . Even a cheap airgun scope will zero at 100 yds with a centrefire ,whether it holds is another matter .Sort yourslf out ffs . -
Blockwork 22 a mtr ,bricks 450 per thou .But to be honest i wouldnt work for these rates as good as they are .Price work all the way based on non skorting ,easy laid back days of £180 plus whatever i make on materials.Site work is a young mans game ,wheres your hard hat .Mud and shit ,travelling ,you can keep it .

Not heard of that one but seems strange why hed steal anything as he has it all tbh .If he was a third party to a stolen dog then hes a right to question where it came from IMO -

The warrener is purely a fox killer by any means .Terriers are doubled ,trebled anything to get a result .I have met him ,having nothing against him as he is up front about what he does .Hes no messer and kills more foxes than i could dream of but with methods that i wouldnt use concerning dogs .Again its his job and faced with the same i might be doing similar where time is money .Anybody knocking him does so on hearsay as hes very easy to talk to and is up front on methods and what he charges . -

Squirrel_Basher replied to Squirrel_Basher's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Yes mate ,thanks for doing that . -
Oh yes mate .we are now searching for a decent roe .
-
So who pays for a failed earth dog to be neutered before rehoming .Says to me its what you want the lads to hear .Its unsavoury but its kept the worker where it is today .Nothing macho about it but no need to shed a tear either ,its not fit for purpose ,like a greyhound that dosnt cut the time .Get over it or move on as youll never breed consistent workers without that in place .
