  1. Most roe I've had in a single season with my own dog single handed was 29, I'd guess we got more than 50 if I included doubled up and other lads dogs getting them etc. If you made long trips down south every week or two to lamp your could easily get over 100 with the right dogs in a season IMO.
  2. Nice stamp of dog Dabchick, hopefully works as good as it looks...
  3. Wish we had the freedom you enjoy Fish...
  4. Good pics and bit of history there WC, nice one mate...
  5. Good pics lads, sure there's a lot more with good ol' piccys...
  6. Just had a look at them on google Chilli, they look like good jackets mate. £250 the one I looked at.
  7. WHY WHAT DIFFERENCE IF IT READS IN FEET OR METERS ON THE BOX ?????.......... YOU STILL JUST HAVE TO DIG IT SURE :whistling: Just easier to read in feet for some of us dummies...
  8. My mates just got one, like has been said no sound and they read in feet which is another plus. I've got two boxes and two collars still fully working so it'll be a while before I havto dig deep and buy one of the new ones...
  9. I know of the odd one's around our area watching earths, dread to think of the one's I don't know about...
  10. Ian B got it spot on, it's ruining the chances of lads getting permission, and is making farmers have an even worse opinion than they already have of lads with lurchers. The lurcher game will be f****d in a few more years IMO...
  11. From what I've seen in the EDRD mags he just has dogs of JP breeding now?
  12. I agree with Dev's post. A proper 'digging' dog should be able to deal with everything you throw at him, I wouldn't want a terrier to be a bushing dog, because the chances are as soon as they get there noses down or come across an earth they'll be in.
  13. Some of the younger lads have the same standards and outlook on terriers too Buster...
  14. I don't mean trying them to ground everytime out Dev, I mean just having them out on digs, and when they 'click' they're usually doing cartwheels on the lead, then I'll try them at an earth...
  15. I'm in north east so eyes and ears open, get some pics up. There will be lads on here that know what's happening with these stolen dogs and are either turning a blind eye or have a part in the thefts. Good luck.
  16. From what I've seen with dogs I've entered, I think it's best to just get them out, showing them earths, showing them quarry, showing them digs etc. etc. and just getting used to general things like being close to the dig and near the spade, IMO putting them back in the kennel to ''think about it'' for a couple of months would be a totally backward step and not something I would do, if a pup wasn't interested I'd just keep persevering until he decides he's ready.
  17. We'll be starting to check earths in the next week or so, won't be out with the lurchers for another 3 weeks or so probably, lot of wheat and rape still up where we are.
  18. I'd beg to differ with you there. My dog took everything single handed, I know other lads including some that are on here that have/had dogs and bitches that could also take everything single handed. FACT.
  19. Pre-ban...I liked a dog that would do all quarry but excel where deer are concerned. Our main aim was deer, if something else got up then we'd run it. Here's a pic of my old dog, did the job for us.
  20. Nice pup Dev, good luck with him mate...
  21. I'll second that, was a good forum while it lasted. Lahosh seemed a knowledgeable fella.
