  1. I've never tried these bark collars, heard mixed reports on them, but like Wilfred has said if they assosciate the collar with having to keep quiet surely they won't dare make a sound when they've got normal or Bellman collars on?
  2. They are cracking stamps them mate, like the two 'Mullet' pups...
  3. Another good little book, with some quality snaps. Nice to see Darcy has seen sense and took the choccy drop route...
  4. I only go out on the hope that I'm going to be digging. It's nice to get a few bolts to get the numbers up, but most of the time when they bolt the dog hasn't been near them. My main aim is to work the dog, and that's what a dig will do.
  5. Look like they've thrown true to the line them Buster...be nice to know how they all do...
  6. If there's any big logs lying about, we put them down from where your digging and pile the spoil up against them. Always seems to work well.
  7. Some good pics there. I started with two second season dogs with high hopes. Lost one to ground couple weeks ago, so just got the one to carry me through the rest of the season. 'Stan'...the dog I lost to ground. And 'Clay' after digging a charlie in December.
  8. Good post that Ian , sounded like it came straight from the heart...
  9. Topper pic that Buster, we'll havto dig a couple of them next invite I get down yours...
  10. I'll join... Just looked on the site, the closest one to me ( North Yorkshire) doesn't have a representative?
  11. Still no sign of the bitch, no more shit, cheers.
  12. Still no sign of the bitch, cheers for the positive replies. Fireman you are not on this f*****g planet mate, this earth is huge , it will be 20ft plus everywhere I'd say, the only way we could have the slightest incling of where to start digging is by putting another dog with a collar on and hoping that the dog goes to the bitch, which with the amount of other occupants I'd imagine are in the earth is a big ask. Plus with the Police, farmer etc etc all knowing what is going on, entering another dog would be seen as willingly interfering with a sett. End of.
  13. Firstly because it's a registered earth, secondly because it's within a stones throw of the farm that owns the land and thirdly because it's absolutely massive, got 40+ holes that are all well used on a steep bank that is about 150 yards from bottom to top. Beleive me mate we're not shy of digging holes, we'd have dug it at the drop of a hat if we had any idea of where about's in the earth she was, the police turned up twice due to the farmer ringing them and wanting the lads off the land. Back to the post, the bitch is still missing.
  14. My mate lost his patterdale bitch on Thursday afternoon while out exercising her. He found her about 4 or 5 fields away baying in a massive earth, but with digging it being out of the question and her having no locator collar on there was nothing he could could do, he left late that night and returned early the next morning but hasn't heard anything since. Checked with all the local farms aswell as dog wardens etc. and put posters up. The bitch is about 13/14" and stocky built, black smooth coated with a bronze cast, she has a white blaze on her chest. She will probably have fresh wounds with
  15. f*****g hell, it was £290 when i got my first one 5 years ago...barryvox next for me I think...
  16. I've had no problem whatsoever with the new collar, the only thing I'd say is a bit annoying is trying to turn it off...
  17. Good man. Nice to see decent lads are still about... :notworthy:
  18. Good result had there Brog, the young dog going well for you...
  19. Block headed that dog.! I was just wondering what the other half of his make up was cos he looks like he's built for the job Father: Shaver (full wheeler dog) Dam:Meg (Downsouth's old bitch)
  20. Had many a day out on my own due to unreliable people...it's just the way it is...some are keener than others...
  21. ...only you could think of that lmao.
  22. Glad to hear the bitch OK, had a dog die to ground two seasons ago the same type of thing, mouth full of fur and wedged in tight, I'd imagine both contributed to the dog dying.
