  1. I work 10 1/2 hour shifts, 4 on 2 off, 7.45am til 6.15pm, lose most weekends and the hourly rate is not too clever but it gets me by, also in the open air all the time and not boxed into some factory so can't grumble too much really. A lottery windfall would be nice!
  2. A relatives ex-husband had it pretty bad, from the first gulf war. Sure they call it gulf war syndrome.
  3. Tidy dogs there boys, look built for the job...
  4. I think he's a f***ing idiot, he had the world at his feet (literally) but decided to piss it up the wall, and exactly the same applies to George Best.
  5. Like has been said, met some good lads on here that otherwise I'd have never known, and had some good days out and dug over some good dogs...
  6. Lmao, I remember the egg decorating site and patt one, were good while they lasted.
  7. I would say the same Fatman, just trying to put my input on the thread as it's about physical appearance/conformation. And Rob I meant shorter in the back than a 'long' backed terrier. I could be totally wrong but it's just MY opinion.
  8. For fox work flexibility may be needed, but surely in the old days of badger work, you'd want a terrier to be short, stocky and well built to deal with a similar shaped quarry?
  9. I prefer wood, but they don't last as long as the plastic ones with the dogs chewing them etc.
  10. Nice dogs, good luck with the pup...
  11. You thinking of a move Wilf? Or just a break?
  12. I know of lads that are digging 300+ a season but that is heads of game, but that's because most digs they're digging have 3, 4, 5 or more in the stop end. 350 digs a season is an awful lot, and in the counties where it is possible 350 digs would most likely result in close to a 1000 head of game in a 6 month period which again is an awful lot and hard to believe.
  13. I think a run for each dog is the best way, that way there's no fights, also you can monitor how much they're eating etc. I'd never have a dog on a chain if I could help it, I think it looks bad to an outsider and also if it shits the chain will go through it and drag it all over the place. Nice set up Blaise...
  14. I think it depends on how people use a shovel, if you dig it in too deep and the the ground won't budge but you're still putting pressure on it then it's logical that it's going to snap imo.
  15. Either way you're not missing much, died a death on there at the minute...
  16. I prefer a strong dog myself, I was referring back to the post before mine that said he'd kill a fox 'with a bite'.
  17. Bedlingtons are different, they suit having a long tail. Normal terriers look terrible with an undocked tail imo.
  18. Looking after them is key, waxing them every month takes 5 minutes and will keep them going a lot longer.
  19. Dig4glory there's a pic of it in darcys first now terrier book.
