There's are a myriad of reasons why bison, wolves, beaver, Lynx and many other animals don't exist in the UK anymore; the lack of and change in habitat, the change in climate, human progression from hunter/gatherer to agriculturalists, deforestation, polution, persecution, Taking aminals from their natural habitat, and putting them in enclosures isn't "reintroducing" them, it's just a step up from the old zoo's. Yeah, wild boar, and maybe beaver, are back in places, but wait 'till they become a nuisance or cause more damage than they are worth, and they'

In 40 years time I'd be 108 ! So, if I was still alive, and compus mentis, I doubt I'll be regretting anything ! LOL ! I quite like Fury as a boxer, but, in my opinion, he couldn't lace Ali's boots. I couldn't care less about them being gypsy, Muslim, where or when they were born. I'm simply looking at them as boxers. Cheers.

One of my great regrets is that I had the chance, twice, to meet Ali, when he visited my kids school and the American embassy in Saudi. I was invited both times, but didn't make the effort to go. Will I regret never meeting Fury, in 40 years time ? Somehow I doubt it. Cheers.

I'm old enough to remember the "Golden Age" of boxing, starting with Ali v Liston, ( just, I was 12). And as much as I admire Fury, I have to paraphrase Ali; " If Fury even dreams he could have beat Ali; he better wake up and apologise ! " Cheers.

Couple of herds in the Cairngorms, semi wild, but owned and farmed. Cheers.

Better get myself a bull cross ............??? Cheers.

Not a lot scares me, Alex. I once spent ten minutes in the company of "the worlds greatest lurcher man" , or "the lurcher worlds biggest braggart and liar", depending on your view, and came away with my hearing and sanity relatively intact !!! Cheers.

A Wycombe player is bleating about something a Fleetwood member of staff has supposed to have said. He says "he has been told" the guy referred to him as "a fat water buffalo" ! He never actually heard it himself. He's now jumped on the BLM bandwagon and said " a water buffalo is a black animal, so it's a racist, dehumanising comment" ! Give it a rest , FFS ! Go complain to Joey Barton, I'm sure you'll get called far, far worse ! Cheers.

My grandson is five, he lives in Saudi but usually visits us at every chance. I haven't seen him for months because of the lockdown, which is more severe out there. Plus his passport was running out and we applied to renew it , but it's taken ages. I phoned the passport office today, but they said it's the perfect storm; skeleton staff meaning a huge backlog, plus loads of people renewing or applying for passports, thinking that the travel embargo is going to end soon, so can't give a date when it will be done. So........when people get a bit frazzled with boisterous grandkids, just

I'm not into football or F1. I like the more sedate sports of snooker and darts......but if some of those in darts "take the knee", the fuckers might not be able to get back up again !!! ? Cheers.

A At the same time he got the whisper in his ear, my son 'phoned me from his office in the British Consulate in Jeddah; he said " dad, turn on your TV, they are bombing America , we've gone into lockdown ! " By the time I'd turned on the TV in my office on an airbase in the Saudi desert, two big guys in sunglasses with HK mp50's were standing at my door........so I guessed I was in lockdown aswell ! LOL ! Good Ole George; how we cheered when he stood on that aircraft carrier and said "mission accomplished " ......... Cheers. -

Weren't the Bushes, Snr & Jnr, supposed to have been involved in some weird ceremony involving lying in a coffin ? Cameron putting his dick into the severed head of a pig ? Extremely rich and privileged people tend to do extremely strange things ! The antics of the Bullingdon Club of Boris , Osbourne and their mates were tame compared to some of the "elite" in society. The " blood libel" is an ancient trope aimed at the Jews without any proof, but there is no denying the Jews hold massive power in banking and finance, the media, Hollywood and politics. I'm no fan of football, but my nephew invited me to watch Newcastle v West Ham at his house and have a few beers. I thought it was a decent game and result, (2-2), but I kept expecting to see Bobby Moore or Malcolm McDonald ! That's how up to date I'm on football , but it was better than watching cheats racing cars with a pre arranged out come ! Give me darts or snooker any day ! LOL ! Cheers.

I didn't watch it, but imagine what would happen to a jockey if the trainer ordered him to hold on to 2nd and not go for the win, or a greyhound trainer stopping his dog from winning ? What about the punters who bet on Hamilton winning ? Wheres the fairness or sport in that ? Cheers.

How about a Le Mans start ? Drivers run to their cars, jump in and take off ! I don't watch F1 these days, to boring when you've a very good idea of the outcome. Cheers.
-
Wouldn't F1 be more interesting and competitive if the winner started the next race at the back of the grid; second place started second last in the next race, all the way down to tenth points winnner, and the other ten did qualifying laps for their place on the grid ? Im sure it would be more exciting seeing the "best" drivers battling through the field than starting in front and leading all the way ! Cheers.

chartpolski replied to brenner's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I've often thought that there's two running dog "types" that could be considered "breeds" in their own right; The coursing dog and the non-ped whippet. They both breed true to type and can trace their "pedigree's" way, way back. Could they be registered as "The British Coursing Hound", and "The British Race Dog" ? On second thoughts; I wouldn't want the Kennel Club getting their hands on them and ruining them, so perhaps best to just leave it as it is ! LOL ! Cheers. -

I respect your opinion, and agree that, in general, the peds have more wind, especially for a long nights lamping. Most, if not all, breeds have something else in their lineage if you go way back, but the non-ped whippets have regular injections of greyhound blood, and the many owners and enthusiasts still call them "whippets", and most, especially the racers, would be offended if you called them lurchers ! LOL ! I got kicked off a whippet forum when I complained about the BWRA raising the weight limit from 32lb to 55lb, and said there had been smaller greyhounds won the Waterloo Cup -

Don't look for an argument where there isn't one, Trev. I love all whippets, ped and non-ped. I've owned and worked both, from the UK to Australia. I'd have another in a heartbeat if the circumstances were right. I said in my post that one of my "whippets" had some greyhound and a dash of collie, but I've had "non-peds" that were all whippet, but not registered. As I said; it's just MY opinion that non- peds are superior to peds; others , of course, have different opinions, and I fully respect that. Cheers.
