As I said long ago, yes, the Iraq war probably WAS about oil ! Saddam and Gaddafhi had dreams of a Muslim empire stretching from North Africa to south east Asia, with either one of them in charge. If they had been successful it would have been disastrous. Saddam invaded Kuwait and crossed the border into Saudi Arabia and was heading directly to the Dammam oilfields. If he had taken them, he would have control of 40% of the worlds oil and be in a position to threaten the west. They were both taken out. Afghanistan was different, it appears to be payback for 9/11,

I've seen some rough stuff in real life, head and hand chopping, execution by shooting......but I get slightly apprehensive at opening some of the stuff we get sent ! ? ! I delete them immediately, I've been known to forward things to the wrong people by mistake ! Also, imagine getting pulled when out with the dogs and the police finding a load of video nasties on your phone ? They'd think "this guy's not just a poacher, he's a sychopath " ! ? ! Cheers.

Irelands government in Europe makes the rules and tell the member countries what to do ! Even the U.K., which has left the EU still has the ECHR telling us our immigration policy. Cheers.

A taste of their own medicine me thinks
chartpolski replied to jigsaw's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Why try to compare different types of hare ? Different animals, different ground, different style. Ive ran brown hare, white hare and I've ran hares in Ireland, but to be fair, they were probably brown hares, not Irish hares. One thing is sure, I enjoyed running all of them, wether it be on the Northumberland fells, the Cairngorm heather or the Irish paddocks ? Cheers. -
A taste of their own medicine me thinks
chartpolski replied to jigsaw's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I've said many times on here over the years that if I want one for the pot, I don't care if it's taken out of the seat or a kick up, but if I'm out for sport, or to test a dog, the hare gets fair law, and if it puts up a good show and gets away...well done. My comment was about captive hares, run in enclosed spaces, by greyhounds in muzzles. As I said, not my idea of sport.? Cheers.- 254 replies

A taste of their own medicine me thinks
chartpolski replied to jigsaw's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I know I qgoing to get shit from some sides, but park coursing is completely different from normal coursing. Its not something I support.....captive hares ran by greyhounds in muzzles isn't my idea of sport. Sorry, but that's just the opinion of a man who's ran hares for over 55 years on their own ground, given fair law ? Cheers.- 254 replies

The French Parliament has just voted to abolish their €140 tv tax !! Well, well, well ! I never thought I'd agree with the duplicitous frogs but bien fait, mon ami's ? Cheers.
-
I'm sure you aren't talking about a coursing dog match, best of three for 10 grand ! Just use common sense, don't give the dog a slip straight out of the car. If you want, give it a stretch and a rub down before and after. Dont over do the running, it's easy to do, but can sicken the dog. And, what a lot of people forget, clean the nail beds by washing in salty water and scrubbing with a soft tooth brush after a day or night out. A dog that has decent food, a clean, draught free kennel , and good excersise will do what you want. It's not rocket science, and you, a

I spent £27 on a mega family bucket at KFC yeasterday for me and my seven year old grandson......we damn near finished it......we did today ! Vegan chicken ????? FFS get a life ! ?? Cheers.
-
The latest advert I hate is the one with the cartoon mother and kid, the kid says to the mother "do we really eat chickens ? Why don't we eat these vegan chicken nuggets ? Is it because you are afraid of change ? " Guilt tripping parents into feeding their kids a meatless diet ! Cheers.

Do you get individual bills from the gas, electric, water, etc, or do you pay the housing people ? It was my understanding that one tv lisence covers any amount of tv's in one building, but if your flats are considered separate buildings, you'll probably have to buy a tv lisence. Cheers.

Physically stretching. This is easy on a smaller dog such as a whippet, not so easy on a 28" deer x ! ?? Many years ago I used to use rubbing oils, I think the names were Radiol and Curaco, something like that, on the whippets, but I've never used it on the lurchers. Cheers. PS, there's no such thing as daft questions......only daft answers ! ? !
-
Vegan meats ...... Its not meat, so stop pretending it is. Either eat meat or don't, but stop calling it meat. Cheers.

Allways massaged and stretched the whippets and greyhounds before a race. I'm convinced that most of the muscle injuries non-ped whippets suffer, especially dropped gracillis, are a result of being raced with the only warming up being the walk from the car to the traps ! With the lurchers, I usually walk a fair distance to where they will run, either from home or from where I've parked the motor, so they are usually warmed up, but a rub down with a rough towel, before and after racing or working does more good than harm ! ? Cheers.

My son was oa a shark survey boat in the Red Sea, seeing the impact Chinese shark fin fishing was having on the shark population. Cheers.

The new army recruiting advert on tv asks "what does the army of the future look like ? It looks like you", And it's a Chinese woman in battle dress holding a drone............. Cheers.

I was being slightly rhetorical asking "why". I think a lot has to do with the fact we run down our storage facilities and sold off all the excess gas we produce. But now that supply is down and endangered by the Russians, and the price has gone through the roof, that now seems like a very bad move. Successive governments had lived for today instead of planning for tomorrow . It would take years to significantly improve our storage capacity. Why not just say we will only export gas as long as we in the U.K. don't experience any shortages ? ( Again, rhetorical, imagine any p

National Grid asks for emergency permission to pump more gas to Europe to fill storage facilities | Daily Mail Online WWW.DAILYMAIL.CO.UK Wracked by a full-blown energy crisis, operators have ramped up the capacity of pipelines exporting gas from Britain to the Netherlands as Europe braces for the... Why are we wanting to export more gas to Europe, in fact, why are we exporting ANY gas to Europe ? The doom mongers are forecasting power cuts, gas rationing and old people dying because they can't heat their homes, gas and electricity prices forecast t

I thought the triple lock was either wage growth, inflation or 2.5% ? Last year wage growth was around 8%, so they suspended the triple lock and then it was whichever was highest, inflation or 2.5 %. Inflation was only around 1.5 %, (how fortuitous was that ? ), So we got the 2.5 %, which neant I got the grand total of £2.80 per week rise in my pension, but my gas and electricity bill rose by £60 per month ! Sunak promised to reinstate the triple lock for next year, but with inflation guaranteed to be in double digits by September, don't be supprised if whoever is the next

Cameron said he would cap net migration at tens of thousands, May said the same. But immigration went UP ! Someone should ask them how will they do that when the ECHR over rules our Supreme Court and won't allow us to send illegals back to France or to Rwanda ? Politicians are afraid to tell the truth about immigration or do anything about it because of the backlash from the left wing twitterarti. The Classic "tail wagging the dog". Cheers.

To be honest I think most vote labour for various reasons. The main reason up here is "me da and grandad did, so will I" Others mistakenly vote Labour because they think Labour is for the working man......they're not, they may have been at one time, but certainly not now. Some vote labour ideologicaly, they want a communist , socialist society where everyone is equal, but it's never worked and allways ends in misery for the working classes. Im not saying The Torys much better bet, I've said many times they are all shithouses........as Richard Littlejohn said, " give some

Corbyn, Prime Minister. McDonnell, Chancellor of the Exchequer. Abbot, Home Secretary. Lammy, Foreign Secretary. Brexit reversed. Unlimited immigration. No nuclear deterrent. Leave NATO. SUpport for terrorism. Just a snapshot of how it would have been had Labour won in 2019......... Cheers.

Sunak is a big tax, big spending, big government chancellor, the complete opposite to what a Tory stands for. Truss was the LibDem president of the Oxford debating society, was an ardent republican who wanted to abolish the monarchy and campaigned to remain in the EU. Again, the complete opposite to what a Tory stands for. Now, it doesn't matter if you love, hate or are indifferent to the Torys, our next Prime Minister will be a lying, backstabbing, hypocrite ! A Tory in name only. And to save you replying, Wilf, yes, I know they are all the same ! ?? ! Cheers.
