  1. I think it's more to do with fuel price....it was only around 20 mile along the military road from me and I almost didn't go, but I'd arranged to meet people there. ?
  2. You need to expand your horizons, grasshopper........knowledge is power. ? Cheers. P.S. "he's a she "
  3. Was at the Haydon Hunt show today. Fantastic venue, Steel Rigg next to Hadrians wall. Not a huge turn out of lurchers and terriers butsome nice hounds and fellhound racing. Intersting talking to some of the fox Hound people, I mentioned the hairy hounds on show, and they said a few of the northern hunts are using Welsh hounds and Welsh/English crosses. A couple of hairy hounds; Some of the hounds on show; Cheers.
  4. I'm still not convince 'cause I've seen P.C. Penhale on "Doc Martin" hiding in a hedge with a hand held speed camera ! ??! Cheers.
  5. Been to Oz a few times and done some hunting down there. Seen loads of spiders, some that people assured me could kill you. Never seen a snake, but I know lads who have lost dogs to them. Never seen a croc, but felt a little bit nervous when we were digging foxes around waterholes. Was very pleased to see some black swans come gliding past. Oz and NZ are fantastic places to hunt, I'd recommend them to anyone ? Cheers.
  6. I've just read this, and I don't understand it, mate ? In the very recent past, I've had two speeding tickets sent to me from Northumberland police, and the cameras that caught me doing 32 in a 30 zone were set up in a police van ! Cheers.
  7. The flips like to dynamite the fish.......crude, but effective ! Cheers.
  8. I agree, I didn't mean our sovereignty was handed over in one go. The Treaty of Rome, the Maastricht Treaty and others, handed more and more power over individual states to the EU. No one party was/is to blame......Gordon Brown snuck off and signed a treaty in the middle of the night after the others had signed, John Major lost his job basically because of Maastricht, Blair and Mandelson wanted us to join the Euro, May wanted to sign a deal that would mean Brexit in name only, Johnson lied to the Nortern Irish to get his deal over the line. What people forget is we voted to "lea
  9. I remember thinking as I watched a trading block, the European Coal and Steel Community , morph into a political entity, The EU, that it would suit Germany, as it would gain hegemoney over Europe by political and financial means, rather than going to war to take over, as it had failed in that several times ! It would also suit France, as they could be a partner , albeit a junior partner, with Germany and not worry about Germany invading them. I never saw the advantage to the UK of handing over huge swathes of its sovereignty to an unelected bureaucracy in a foreign country when we we
  10. I can't see that happening. Farage hates Boris, you just have to watch his show every night on GBNews, he's done everything he can to bring down Boris. They could never work together, their egos are too big, one of them would have to be the "face" of the Reform" Party, and the other could never play second fiddle. Farage is already a member of Reform and a great friend of Tice, so I could see him coming back into politics as the leader of "Reform" , but Boris ?....... Nah, can't see it happening. Just my opinion, of course ? Cheers.
  11. Our Vietnamese cousin was coming today to cook for us, so I had a run down to North Shields fish quay and bought some sea bream, lemon sole and a couple of fresh, live crabs. First course, crab, sweet corn and mushroom soup; Meat course, stir fry beef noodle with pak choi and bean shoot; Fish courses, sea bream in soy sauce with ginger and spring onion; Lemon sole with shredded vegetables and rice noodles; Finished off with the wife's home made apple pie and custard, but forgot to take a pic ! Cheers.
  12. We put the fear of God, ( or the fear of Farage), up the two main parties when we voted overwhelmingly for the Brexit party during the European Elections and when four million of us voted for UKIP in the UK General Electon. Sadly "first past the post" system of voting meant the SNP got over 50 seats with less votes than UKIP, Who only got one seat. The two main parties will never change the electoral system to something like Proportional Representation because it would break their two party monopoly! I don't know the answer, all I can do personally is vote Reform Party, or if th
  13. I feed mine on raw, usually minced chicken, green tripe or salmon. They also get raw lamb and beef bones, and chicken wings and carcasses; But I also get a bag of cheap complete to use as a mixer. My feed store guy reckons I shouldn't mix complete and raw, but I tend to disagree with him, I've allways done it and never noticed any problems. Cheers.
  14. Valid points, Wilf. Yes, we have left the E U and there are many things we can now do that the EU imposed upon us. So, why do we not do them ? Well, in my opinion it's because the majority of politicians, civil servants and msn were, and are, dead set against Brexit, and even though the majority of people voted for it, the remainers have done, and will do, everything they can to delay, stymie and eventually overturn the democratic will of the people. The "Noble Lords" Heseltine and Adonis have already said on televised interviews " Now Boris is gone, Brexit is gone" !
  15. It's not a conspiracy theory mate, just a prediction ? By the way, they don't speak Arabic in Turkey.....they speak Turkish, a completely different language. In fact, Kemal Attaturk banned the use of any Arabic words in the Turkish language almost 100 years ago. ? Cheers
  16. I don't think it will ever happen, mate. Hes already got a reputation as a backstabbing snide, but in a Parliament full of backstabbing snides, I guess anything is possible ? Cheers.
  17. I, like millions of others, held my nose and voted Tory for the first time in my life in 2019. but we didn't really vote Tory, we voted for Boris. Myself, it was for two reasons; He promised to get the democratic vote to leave the EU done, against the undemocratic and frankly traitorous Labour Party, the LibDems and many in his own party. The second reason I voted for him was to keep the traitorous, terrorist supporting, communist fool Corbyn from becoming Prime Minister. Boris succeeded in both these things and I'lm greatfull. Yes, of course we all knew he was à

My cousin, who is dual nationality, British/Cypriot, is here just now and could have written what you posted above ! ?Apart from the cost of living, he's quite shocked at the cost of living here. Hes looking to buy a cottage in the country to spend the summer here and the winter in Cyprus. He told me it's very expensive to keep a house in Cyprus hot in winter and cool in summer, but he's spent a very enjoyable 20+ years living there, but feels he needs to spend at least some of his time in his latter years "back home". Cheers.
  19. I'm an old man, Wilf, I've lived a very varied and eventful life, my grandson and his mother live in a country that puts its own people way, way above anyone else, legal immigration is almost impossible, illegal immigrants are held in a cell until there is enough of them to fill a Jumbo Jet, then flown back where they came from, no appeals, no lawyers, no legal aid ! My grandson is well taken care of for his future, and to be truthful, it doesn't really matter to me who runs or ruins this country, I just get depressed, not even angry any more, at the hipocrisy. I couldn't care if Cor
  20. I'm certainly not a racist, but even I noticed that the first five contenders Beth Rigsby and Kay Burley mentioned to be our next Prime minister were either Arabic or South Asian decent . Cheers.
  21. Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark Ps you've also got your facts wrong ? No, I'm not worried more or less about any of them, I'm simply pointing out the rank hipocrisy and faux outrage. They are all as bad as each other. Cheers.
  22. There won't be a referendum. If Labour don't win a working majority, they will form a coalition government with the SNP and the LibDems. We will rejoin the EU in all but name....first will be rejoining the Customs Union, then the Single Market, which will entail open borders and free movement. It will be done undemocratically, by stealth, we won't have a vote. Cheers.

I think the only way to come to a conclusion about a country is to go there, spend some time seeing all aspects of it, spend time with the people, and I don't mean a two week package holiday in a tourist spot full of fish and chip shops, English pubs and Whatneys bleeding Red Barrel ! ?? Its a huge move to start a new life in a foreign country, and you should garner as much information as possible before making that move. Cheers.
  24. No. Im watching Sky News and they are interviewing the same Boris haters that they did yesterday. Alister Campbell, the alcoholic who has been sectioned before because of mental problems, the man who lied about weapons of mass destruction to take us into an illegal war. Then Chris Bryant, the queer Labour MP who a couple of years ago was posting pictures of himself on a gay website wearing only his y fronts. And they have the gall to question Boris' honour and integrity ! You really couldn't make it up........ Cheers.
