  1. Cut off all the tabs and sand the inside edge so its chamfered. Drill a 22mm hole in the centre of the filter. Lastly sand the outside edge of the lamp. This gives you a push fit filter which you can pull off with your finger through the hole, works really well for me. I also black tape the outside of the filter so you don't get so much light escaping back in your face. I think I got the idea off someone on here years ago.
  2. That's why I asked, so many posts about dogs for "this" season, what happens to the one from last season and where do they all go before next season? Might not be the case in this instance but it does make you wonder.
  3. This post has gone a bit quiet, what's everyone up to? Anyone tried working the dogs in their new gear yet?
  4. Finally came up with a solution, just so happens the case for my old led lenser torch is exactly the right width. With a bit of cutting down and a bit of stitching seems to work. Pic to follow when I get round to it. Cheers for ideas all.
  5. What dogs did you have last season?
  6. Got a ridgeline pintail, never again. There are simply not breathable.
  7. The grizmo one? My problem is being able to quickly swap between dogs to use the zapper, hence not wanting to lock the screen. Maybe I'm just being awkward. I've mailed buzzards roost to see about postage.
  8. Personally I'm of the opinion there's too many humans anyway and animal rescues are only helping the individual animal rather than the cause of the problem so I always direct my charity towards environmental stuff. Back on topic, the kid who did this is going to get it whatever happens. There's that many people up in arms about it, one of them is bound to be willing and able to give him what he deserves whether the law does anything or not.
  9. Yes it does, but its bloody fiddly. I use mine with two collars and by the time you have unlocked the screen and changed to the correct dog it can be too late. Due to a change in circumstance, I have had to break them to a particular quarry which they have been worked on previously and a quick beep from the collar is enough to remind them it's no go. If you don't get their attention in time then it can get emotional very fast. As I said before I'm probably just being too picky but surely it's not beyond the wit of man to make what is basically a big phone case? I was kind of hoping someone
  10. You'd think so wouldn't you? I've been looking ever since I got it. It drives me mental, it works great but as soon as its in your pocket or anywhere near anything that can touch the touch screen its ends up doing all sorts of weird shit. It's deleted routes, changed settings, all sorts. The time to start fiddling about trying to reset it is NOT when you suddenly need to use it, hence the need for a case!
  11. Just had another look, there are loads of rubbery type one and a few leather ones but nothing that covers the screen, and allows you to see it and use the buttons. Might be I'm just being fussy but that what I want!
  12. Freezer bags no good, its the touching the screen that's the problem and that would still happen. The unit is waterproof anyway so was more concerned about the case itself being water resistant. I thought I had moxy, have you found something?
  13. Here is a project for someone smarter than me. I would normally make any gear like this but I am stumped on this one. I have searched the web and nothing is available so I'm trying here. I cant believe I'm the only one with these requirements so might be the chance to sell more if you can puzzle it out. I have a Garmin Alpha receiver that needs a case, needs to have a clear flip front so I can see it but so the touch screen don't rub on my pocket and change its settings all the time, also need to be quick to open and have constant access to the zapping buttons and the on off button. 14. Polyurethane glue and a clamp will fix that. It's not like it matters if you can see the repair.
  15. Brilliant, more posts like this and the site would be so much more interesting. Lovely country too!
  16. Rat attack is no good, 2 stroke much better
  17. Everything is early this year, look at the sloes and blackberries, nature is having a funny one I reckon.
  18. Honest straight forward post, fair play. I'd take you out but I expect Sussex is a bit far. Good luck with them
  19. Is carrying an injury that might be putting her off or maybe just unsure what to do without your older bitch to follow?

    Terriers

A lot will be down to the individual dog and handler. Some terriers are great obedience wise and some spaniels are pants and vice versa. A lot depends on training and entering.
  21. Thanks to Jai for putting on a great BBQ spread and good to meet everyone else. I had a good evening full of beer and dog talk. Looking forward to the trip
  22. How time flies! Last time I saw you that bitch was a pup just starting, sounds like she's ticked all the boxes for you over the last couple of seasons! We must make an effort to get out this year. ATB
