  1. Parker, jrtxwhippet as described earlier
  2. I have jrtxwhippet, he's been a very good dog for me and done everything asked of him. Works as a lurcher would mainly but will work cover if there isn't a terrier available. Lamps well enough, not the fastest but makes up with heart and agility. Very good ferreting and not a bad moocher and ratter. His only real fault is whinging in the car when he knows we are going hunting, it drives me mental but stops once working, just too keen I guess. I have a new laptop or would put some pictures up, will look them out tomorrow if I get a chance
  3. I had salx bitch that did the same thing at that age, it was a phase which she grew out of over a few months and lots of patience and I still got her, retired, 8 years later.
  4. I think you do some of the best write ups on here, always cheers me up when I see a new one
  5. You'd be surprised b y what a halfx whirrier can do, I have one coming up 7 years old that could put a few lurchers to shame. Halfx Russell sire to a non ped dam. If I could have another the same I wouldn't hesitate for a second
  6. Sadly Donna, no he doesn't. In an ideal world I would put him across a litter sister but lost track of the littermates and, unless they'd already been bred, they'd be a bit long in the tooth now.
  7. Ok, who's got a small whippet x or whippet bitch? I'm willing to travel but want to see the bitch working first then wait for her to come in season. Happy to show the dog working and if you don't like him then all bets are off. Not in any rush, got to be the right bitch.
  8. If only it was possible to clone him
  9. There's two things stopping me, firstly knowing someone with the right bitch and secondly the timing. I'm not ready for a pup yet but will be in a year or two. It's just something that I've been thinking about more and more recently
  10. Phil, I've not seen any other whippet russells work but those I have seen at shows etc are not the same type. His ability is what makes him worth breeding from and I couldn't guarantee that from another dog bred the same way
  11. He is a first cross, jrt x non ped whippet I believe, bred by dogger from this site. The biggest hurdle maybe finding the right bitch owned by someone who wants a whirrier stud. I have never bred or wanted to but the older he gets the more I realize how handy he is.
  12. Should you or shouldn't you? I have a 7 year old jrt x whippet who has proved himself to me time and again. Ideally I would like to clone him but failing that I'd like to breed him to a bitch of the same type and calibre aiming to get a very similar type of dog. Is this a good idea or am I likely to end up with throw backs?
  13. I am in West Sussex and am part of a little team of lads who do the ratting on an estate and some shoots at this time of year. If you don't find anyone else we could come once our regular places are all sorted?
  14. I actually knew a pit x daschund in Zimbabwe, was a funny looking thing but never did any work that I saw
  15. Yeah, it takes up to 10 i think but they have to be alpha collars it wont find astro ones
  16. Might also be a plan to arrange evening food with the local bar we went to? If they had a meal on the table for everyone at the same time every night it would save a lot of messing about? Probably work out cheap enough and no one would have to deal with a hungry Owain!
  17. Its my first chance to get online since getting back from Spain. I can only echo what has already been said - great experience, great company, totally different terrain and a massive learning curve. Would've been great to catch but getting to hunt a few was nearly as good. Roll on the next trip!
  18. They're his videos, its up to him where he puts them. I don't blame him, they could end up anywhere and cause grief
  19. I have a set and think they are great. Never tried any other to compare to though. My understanding is do not update the handset as it messes them up. Mine came from the states.
  20. Sorted now and all paid up. Just the transport thing to resolve now ....
  21. Its me that's messing it all up, laptop died, internet broke etc. I am now back online, for now anyway, but lost all my emails. If anyone has Micky's payment details could they PM or text them to me so I can get it paid please? Also, Jai and Owain if you read this what do I need to do about paying my part for the tunnel. Moneys here just struggling the get the technology to co operate!
  22. Glad it worked, I'd never heard of it up til I tried it
  23. 23rd Nov mooching round yours?
  24. I'd be up for that if you'll have me?
