    depends what ground you ferret. Jack russells are good some like whippets. I prefer beddy whippet and wouldn’t want anything else. ground I frequent is hedgerows, railway embankments etc. the one I work now at 18 1/2 inch she tackles brambles, nettles, is a excellent marker and is quick enough for short 20 or so yard bolters. but I certainly wouldn't call her a running dog.

    1 in the bag is still a result. dogs done it's job marking and ferrets proved itself as well?. anyone who's never missed a bolthole has never been ferreting.

    the difference between cost and worth is massive. what someone is prepared to pay is their business. price is irrelevant you only pay what you are prepared to.

    I think badgers kill more young rabbits than people realise. there are far to many badgers now the amount you see run over and the latrines full of shit on daily mooching shows this. also when landowners say there's loads about 10 rabbits sat out in the fields is 100 in their head.

    it's impossible to say no poachers about as you don't know what goes off after dark. I know you want to keep your permission but you can't expect to shoot them in the summer and then wonder why numbers are low when season starts.

    forget smoking out and put a brick with a carrot on outside the hole. After it's eaten the carrot 2 days running cover the carrot with pepper. rabbit will sneeze and knock itself out on the brick..... simples.

    had quite a few convictions in the past. never any chance of permission on local estates, quite violent at times nothing to be proud of. Old fart now enjoying mooching about with little dog and couple of ferrets. certainly didn't win in the end, would I do it all again.... you bet I fxxxxxg would.

    just watched it. I couldn’t help notice he pegs his purse nets at the bottom not for me, always peg at the top. enjoyed watching it but top longnetters in Europe? ...... my arse.
