it's pretty much the same here mate. railway embankments we used to dog and ferret now walking trails full of arseholes on pushbike or walking dogs they can't control.
it's the only bad thing about keeping dogs. Old fella once told me he knew many hard nuts ten pints a night men and pub brawlers, but they cried when the Whippet died.
all the old boys I used to talk to. (long dead). were horrified at the thought of lamping they used to say you may as well knock on keepers, farmers etc, door and tell them your coming. they were all longnetting men what they called proper poaching.
what I am saying is some do some don't. some say if they are kept clean which by the way I believe is essential to all ferrets they should be ok. choice is yours.
Jill's can be left in season without any problems. I have done it several times. however its not recommended as they are prone to infection and sometimes die, that's why most people take them out of season.
