    After receiving a call from the lovely old girl that owns the land where we have our pheasant shoot telling me about her rabbit problem and ringing around to see if anyone fancied a wonder out and been knocked back by everyone ( that includes you long one ?)     Wow ?, I have just read all of that, so tony juniper has come to the conclusion that this situation is way beyond his skill level and has passed the buck to Michael gove, who’s office will now be collecting information and evidence as to the best way to proceed with the GL, they will be doing this until the 13th of may and then taking another week to come to their conclusion, this is for a license that will be reviewed again at the end of the year, so where does this leave us with the new GL’s that have already been released, I would of thought that as they were not pasted by the secretary for

    The simple answer is they can’t, 99% of people won’t even understand what the GL is and the legality of it

    I agree with most of what you have said but up here the jackdaws and rooks are a real problem around the farm, For me I would like to see all the corvids on a pest list along with pigeons, I wouldn’t have a problem with jays not been classed as a pest, we will just have to see if defra come up with any bright ideas

    The pigeon license reads well, it’s a crop protection licence the line in it that in my opinion you should take notice of is “ if serious damage is occurring or is reasonably expected to occur in the absence of licensed action “ the Canada license is a public health issue, nothing about them grazing fields off so in that respect they would fall under the wildfowl season for me, I can understand why the are doing species specific licensing it makes sense to me not to put them all under the same license as a lot of them create an individual problem, I’d be interested to see what the jay and mag

    I’ve just had a read through it and it’s not a million miles away from what I was expecting it to say, some of the most important words in it to me are “ is reasonably expected to occur in the absence of licensed action “ this reads to me as prevention, you know the problem is coming so why wait until it arrives

    I have been guilty myself of not following the GL and also not understanding some of it, if you read into it there is so many grey areas that can be interpreted in many different ways, what I would like to see is pigeon and corvid classed as a pest species and treated in the same way as rabbit/fox/gray squirrel, I don’t think we would ever get to a point where the numbers were low enough to remove them from the GL or to go back to this mess we are in now, I also wouldn’t have a problem with the need for a personal license for the control of Canada and jays, I would also accept Canada’s to be s

    Just a generic letter no doubt sent to hundreds of people, what gives this away is I used my name on the letter yet I’m referred to as the complainant, they haven’t even done what they said by starting the release of the licenses by Monday, this just goes to show the complete ineptitude of these people, they didn’t need to act in the way they did and create this mess, WJ asked for license changes in 2020, giving plenty of time to get this right, I’m sure if I was this incompetent I would be for the chop but I’m guessing these people will carry on taking there excessive pay while making a bigg

    Well, a reply from NE complaints department and I don’t know why they bothered, the link in the email is to NE’s press release saying they are working hard to sort the new GL and this is there final response on the subject, I would of had more respect for them if they just told me to f*ck off ?
