It’s stunning mate, I’ve moved to another ride a bit closer to the farm because I don’t like the look of them clouds and as I got here I bumped a group of 7 fallow deer grazing on the ride, very dark in colour and looked in very nice condition

Well I’ve had to bring some gear up to the shoot for fence repairs, drinkers, feeders etc, and thought I’d give it an hour calling, so dropped the gear off with my mate and headed to where I know they are, been here a little over an hour and nothing as yet, as you can see from the pictures I don’t have a lot of space to call them into and it looks like I’m about to get wet, but I’ll give it a little bit longer and see how I get on ?

When you go to buy ammo for it make sure you tell them you want 190 grain, your dealing with northern foxes ???

Orrr, poor little long one?, get that monster.308 sorted mate and I take you out for a go at them, we’ll see if you can turn a couple into rugs with some big heavy rounds ?

I just peck away at them over the summer, there’s not a lot of places to shoot them, baiting up on rides works best up here, I normally get a couple of weeks window after combine to call them out onto the stubbles before the birds go in, my mates just messing with me, he knows how it works he’s ran syndicate’s for years they have clear felled an area at the back of the shoot so this will be somewhere new to bait up i wasn’t going to put a picture up, but f*ck it, I’m not doing anything wrong, in fact I’m helping many other species out, but there’s no need for the anti’s to thank me

I’ve been working today with the lad that runs our shoot and if working with him all day wasn’t enough he decided it would be a good idea if we went for a walk around the shoot before we have our first meeting next week, ( I’m guessing his missus wanted rid of him for the evening), so after a look around the pens we walked the boundaries we came across 3 foxes none of which presented a shot, one of them was running down a spud field with a hen bird in its mouth, we then headed to where I seen the fox last Sunday and said to my mate that we would give it 20mins or so after 5 minutes a fox cros

My little cz also didn’t like eley, they didn’t group well at all and seemed to be coated in something waxy, this was a long time ago and I’ve been told they have changed now, but once bitten twice shy

Seen half a dozen around the back of the farm on the shoot last night and could hear a few in the cover as I walked down the rides, I’m sure I seen a couple of partridge when I was going down the track towards the farm which is unusual for up there

Even I could of hit it with a shotgun, it was that close I could see the fear in its eyes, I’ve had a couple on that ride now with the shotgun, both cubs after I’ve taken the adults i’m sure cwis will be over the moon that it lives to kill more wildlife than, but it’s time will come

As I’ve said before I don’t tend to shoot fox this time of year but after a terrible weekend at work I was in need of a walk out on my own for a bit of stav time to clear my head, so I grabbed the fox caller and the .243 and off I went to the pheasant shoot, now this time of year you are very limited as to where you can shoot so knowing where there was a couple of earths on the far side of the shoot that’s where I headed, I set the caller on a ride approximately 75 yards away from where I was standing, I set it away with a pheasant distress for about 40 minutes with no luck, I then changed it

I was a bit obsessed at one point watching Roy lupton flying his eagles on mountain hares and goshawks on rabbits and even on game birds, it’s something you don’t see a lot of and is stunning to watch ?

Welcome, that sounds an amazing thing to be involved in, I’ve done almost every kind of country pursuit over the years, even the ones that are now banned that sadly people coming into this now will never get to experience but I’ve never been lucky enough to go out with someone who works birds, I’ve watched a lot of videos on YouTube and to see them chase down hares is a fantastic thing to watch ?

A mate of mine asked if I would like to remove a few rabbits from a church yard with him tonight, not to wipe them out but just to thin them as the congregation like to see a few about, so on arrival it became clear that a lot more shooting opportunities would of been had with air rifles but only having the little .22 rimfires we made the best of it, I managed 14 of all different sizes and all shot in daylight, I think my mate was around the same number, the church is surrounded by horse paddocks and looking over them there was double the amount of rabbits in them compared to what was in the
