They pretty much let anyone do dury service, as long as conviction’s are spent and you haven’t done a big stretch or something grim, when I was a young’un my arrest record was nuts, filling out my SGC and FAC took ages ? but they took it for what it was and I was granted both, I’ve done jury service twice and been forman of the jury both times, last time I managed to convince 7 others to find a young lad not guilty who was looking at at least a 5 stretch and definitely didn’t deserve to go to jail, it’s a good feeling standing up in court and delivering a not guilty verdict when you know it’s

Patio and raised bed finished, told them 6 days, customer over the moon did it in 3 1/2, even put their gate arch back up for them, another new skill learned ?

Even though it was raining yesterday evening me and longshanx had a trip up to my mates farm,because we are hardcore ? firstly on the lookout for a buck and secondly to get a few things for the longone’s mate to feed to his dogs as they are on a full raw diet ( not even undressed) anyway after a wander about we never seen a buck so concentrated on the dog food, walking past the game cover that my mate has put in ( they don’t put anything down on the farm ) there was loads of wildie partridges so fingers crossed I’ll get my invite to the family day ? we managed to dodge the rain for a bit longe

I think this thread has ran it’s course now and gone off track a fair bit, I’ve been more than guilty of that myself, I start back up at the shoot next week proper ( ? the birds turn up) so I think I’ll start a new thread for the upcoming season and keep it all things “ keepering” and try and keep you all convinced that I know what I’m doing ?

I used it out of politeness because the bloke got it thinking it would help, you had to get off it to tip it and it kept cutting out because it thought it was going to tip over, as soon as he went out I sacked it off for the barrow

I don’t think it’s down to the woodies, most mate for life ( unless you shoot one of them ?) it’s them feral pavement chip eaters you got to keep your eye on, strutting around looking rapey ? I watched a documentary about pigeons and they really are just rats with wings, all feral and racers are descendants of the rock dove and like the rat they have taken full advantage of their environment

So we had, courgette and Parmesan soup with garlic seeded soda bread toast, followed by cod fish cakes, new spuds salad and lemon and black pepper mayo i though it was bang on, her indoors said it was alright ? no pleasing some people

They can definitely cross breed, I knew someone years ago that had racers and he crossed a rock dove with a woodie apparently they were no good for owt, they reckon that they never cross breed in the wild

Went a bit mad today having a day to myself corned beef and potato pie ( for work ) cod fish cakes in panko breadcrumbs ( tea tonight) courgette and Parmesan soup ( starter for tonight) wholemeal seeded soda bread ( will be toasted and rubbed with garlic to go with the soup ) if she’d let me retire this could be what she comes home to every day, I tried the soup, it’s very nice ?

We used to go looking for wasp nests over the fields behind my mam’s house when I was a kid, I was a member of a small angling club that had matches every other Saturday, the prize money was about 20 quid and a apple pie or some other food ? we used to smuggle grubs and joker in, won a few between me and my mate and 20 quid was a small fortune to us in the early 90’s

Up at the shoot first thing this morning, bird scare tape up around the pens, elec fences on and tested, water on and drinkers tested and adjusted, water butts filled again over the piggeries, I had little Hugo with me so after he cleared grass and sticks from around the fence wire he had a bit of target practice with the little rat catcher, he’s getting to be a good shot ?
