I’ve never seen one rapped in elec cord, might be one of them ruff urban foxes, out burgling currys, I did once shoot one with a snare around its waste that had almost cut it in half, no idea how it was still walking around P.S. I can still get into 32” jeans, I just have a pair for each leg ? -
I was talking to someone the other day who has a C50 and he was saying he’d had nothing but bother with it, he was saying it wouldn’t zero and was always shooting high, just sounded like a mount problem to me, I said I’d give him 300 quid for it, but he thinks I’m trying to rip him off ??
-
Good job ? had the C50 lost zero?
-
Glad this is my mates job, the whopper is about 20 sleepers short? taking shape now, double wall so a flower bed will surround the patio and fake grass ?
-
Cracking night out, the low whistle is my preferred way to stop them, there’s nowt worse than been out with someone who gives the loudest O’i you have ever heard and then says when it runs off at a million miles an hour “ something spooked it” yes it was YOU, you crank, ?
-
You want some ??

100% pheasant shooting should be done in the snow night time fox shooting in the snow is quality and deer stalking in a winter wonderland I always treat myself to a day off when it snows, just to go out shooting ? Don’t panic mate, it will soon be freezing, windy and raining for at least 6 months ??
-
Hopefully we’ll get a bit of the white stuff this year ?
-
Won’t be long until you are back to the 1st one with an apprentice ?

Sacked the drain off because tree roots have got into the clay pipe so 25’ needs replacing, they are getting a floor saw because the concrete is between 6” and 8” in front of the door, said he’d ring me, I might block his number ? back to another sleeper wall before it’s filled in and covered with a patio and fake grass ?
-
It’s secured with fence posts on the corners and joints, then I use 150mm and 200mm decking screws to fasten it all together from the inside so you can’t see anything ?
-
Drainage problem on the farm today, 70 years of cow sh*t and to top it off, there hasn’t been any mention of cash payment ??
-
First light, early April, no one about, just me and the deer

I’ve ran out of likes, so here you go for the rest of the day ? ? ??

Although I’ve got loads of photos of things I’ve shot my favourites are always with people having a good time and the memory of spending that time with them little Hugo’s first proper evening out rabbit shooting and then a call for a fox Hugo working harder than the spaniels up at the shoot with my mate Rob The missus up at the shoot with me, she normally comes to feed once a year, remembers she hates the countryside and doesn’t come until the next season few lads from the shoot, enjoying the day, sadly the lad on the left took his own life not long after this photo
-
I like this one, not much to it, but it was the day after the last day of the season, it was almost like a victory flight, he’d made it
-
I’ll let him know you were impressed by them ?
-
Could be a good thread this ( don’t call each other names ?) I’ve got hundreds of photos, a lot of them not very good but there’s always a really good memory or story behind them ? top one, young lads from the shoot, they’ve all left school now and 3 of them are members now middle one, me and Mosh, bolting foxes to the shotguns bottom one, me and Mosh out with Dasher, I think it was the late 90’s, anyway it was a long time ago because Mosh looks about 12 and he’s in his mid 50’s now ?

Hi to all my old friends on the THL rifle section
Stavross replied to shovel leaner's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I don’t know where to start with it, last season was the first full season where I was in charge of it all and it turned out to be the best season they have ever had, more by luck than good judgement I think ( even managed to give a couple of lads off here a day ) so now the members have decided that I will run it, probably the worst year you could be given the job, the prices of everything is crazy, my birds are meant to be here next week but I’ve heard nothing from the lad and the last time I spoke to him he said 3rd week in August and we can only have 500 instead of 800, he said 500 becaus -
They pretty much let anyone do dury service, as long as conviction’s are spent and you haven’t done a big stretch or something grim, when I was a young’un my arrest record was nuts, filling out my SGC and FAC took ages ? but they took it for what it was and I was granted both, I’ve done jury service twice and been forman of the jury both times, last time I managed to convince 7 others to find a young lad not guilty who was looking at at least a 5 stretch and definitely didn’t deserve to go to jail, it’s a good feeling standing up in court and delivering a not guilty verdict when you know it’s
