Well, I was back there at sparrow fart today as the birds at Gordon’s pen are giving me sleepless nights, I had visions of getting to the pen and it been empty, but when I got there I was surprised how many were actually in the pen, I put 300 in this one and I’d of said there was easily over 200 in the pen and a good number around it in the brambles, so hopefully they know now where they live, the birds in general look really well, I’ve had one dead in the pen and a idiot that got itself stuck in the top of the fence, so them two have become fox bait over the far side, I’m starting to get a f -
I’ve just started rewatching that, when I get an hour to myself, I’d agree it’s probably the best angling series made, a very close second would be “ A passion for angling “ ?

Not big numbers but this was the first time I had the pleasure of standing on the front of a combine, I can’t think of any shotgun shooting I enjoyed more than this, I missed loads more than I hit but drive by rabbits is really good fun

Yeah, would be nice to be able to keep them in the pens for a bit though, if I could be up there all the time clipping them would be ideal, there was one yesterday that got up and if it had of been November there would of been a fair bit of lead chucked at it ? -

Going off what he told me they will be 19 weeks around the 25th of November, nothing is clipped, that’s why the buggers are all over the place, when I was there today 70% of them had hopped the fence at Gordon’s pen and were in the bracken and brambles, I had that horrible sinking feeling when I got to the pen, even though I couldn’t see many I had a good idea where they were and when the lad went up tonight he said there was a lot back in the pen ( he says a lot but there’s only 300 and you can soon lose 300 around there ) and around it, these are the problems we have been hobby keepers, not -
My best day at the shoot, when I used to shoot it if you’d ever seen me with a shotgun you’d never believe that these numbers would be possible ?

That’s great stuff, 195 for your first fox is very impressive, the cool, calmness and confidence of youth ???
