    Pal had the CZ 527 Synthetic in .223 and it was incredibly accurate but a tad let down by the stock, the American has a wooden stock if I remember correctly, should be fine. Slightly unusual dovetail size on the CZ I believe, but doesn't seem to stop people buying them. Howa make decent guns but never seem to get the acclaim they deserve. Both are good options. If they are in similar condition and similar price then just get the lightest, no need to hump around a heavy rifle in the field.

    Perhaps I'm just getting old but I can't keep up with this, I believe I have counted this topic in 5 different threads in different places on THL and I keep darting from one to the other and lose track of conversations. I think the idea is that NE is looking at the situation and rewording the GL for individual species and individual reasons, and new GL versions will start to emerge in the next few days, although full rewriting and implementation will take several weeks. If all the threads were combined it would be a lot easier for old boys like me to follow!

    I understand they are working on a FastTrack system to expedite licences. Just the same, it must be pretty obvious to everyone there will be a backlog very quickly. Lets hope this mess is all resolved asap.

    Any half decent scope will be fine, if not take it back under warranty. Scopes by nature fit rifles, they do not come with a warning saying only fit to a .22lr and only use sub sonic ammo!

    This seems to be some sort of kneejerk reaction but individual licences can still be applied for. The GL has nothing to do with Sport or Hunting, there are seasons for that, the GL is only about PEST CONTROL under designated circumstances!
