  1. It took my brand new HMR a while to settle down and different (same type) ammo did perform differently. I am pretty confident I had the first HMR CZ Silhouette sold in the UK. After a while, when the barrel was nicely settled/shot in, and using up part boxes, it became evident that the difference was negligible/virtually impossible to see! I used just about every make available at the time, that was when a few companies made the stuff, I believe it is just CCI and Winchester now. I use the Hornady 17g V-Max almost exclusively these days and have done as long as I can recall, th
  2. Can someone please confirm the direct email address for the above please. Many thanks.

    Brexit

You simply couldn't make up the mess the Government and Parliament have made of this, so what does anyone expect is going to happen by 31 October? No doubt TM's deal will be watered down even more to the extend we are still in, pay them a fortune but have no voting rights or any control/veto!
  4. Had a pal with a HMR who cleaned it and then moaned about its accuracy, this was several years back! So I told him to clean it and when he was happy with his cleaning give it to me...….this was the result of me cleaning his already clean barrel, I took the pics to show him! Top, right to left, bottom left to right, with a scrub between each patch! The HMR is a tiny little calibre that needs careful attention and thorough cleaning. I am not suggesting for a minute you are not cleaning it properly, there could well be other issues with the ammo, crown, moderator etc, but it does

    Brexit

Brexit delay bill receives royal assent and is signed into law after it is raced through Parliament. Yvette Cooper's backbench Bill aimed at forcing Theresa May to request a Brexit extension rather than leave the EU with no deal has been signed into law. The cross-party European Union (Withdrawal) (No 5) Bill received royal assent after it was backed by MPs and peers on Monday night. It places a legal requirement on the Prime Minister to seek an extension to Article 50 in a bid to prevent a no-deal exit from the EU.
  6. I believe that's an Airsporter, cracking guns if you have them on song, but you need consistency/accuracy with shooting, and rats can be tough. Good luck!

No publicity is bad publicity as the saying goes!

But you talked about it on a forum that potentially thousands can see and get curious!
  9. Like I said, that's my best, it doesn't happen like that every time, but I wouldn't be to happy if I couldn't get sub 1" consistently!

Exactly the reaction the program makers hope for!
  11. This is the best I've done at 100 with the HMR, put this up before, it was a while back now. Good day, right conditions, I would expect sub 1" without too much effort!

There is more on the cutting room floor than you see, its edited to look like the producers/editor want it to look. Its a TV program, a docusoap if you like, its designed to sell as a program and get viewers...and getting people talking on forums etc about it is great news for the program makers!
  13. 'cos he wanted to I guess! What is available for not a lot more money out of interest? Apparently he paid £18 inc delivery which is pretty keen!
  14. I have no doubt that Big Cats have escaped/been released over the years. Not so easy these days with tighter controls. Just the same, it would take a breeding pair as a minimum to make anything viable, which is harder still. Deceased bodies of all wildlife disappear VERY quickly in this country, but the lack of any credible evidence has always been an issue. Never say never, but the Vast majority of this is BS.
  15. Precis version of the comments, generally locals to the area......its a load of BS.
  16. As mackem mentioned above The readers comments at the bottom of that article are interesting.
  17. Looks very good, and very good VFM. Even if you have to convert it isn't much of an issue these days!
  18. So, well known in the area apparently, someone knows where it lives but not a photo in sight.
  19. Never ceases to amaze me how they turn from this..... to this...…………..
  20. That's about the size of it, probably best to experiment a bit on different water!
  21. A mod makes a noticeable, and several dB difference on a .22HV, as it does on centrefres, that's why people use them! It goes a long way to reducing the propellant bang, just leaving the sound barrier crack. I think we might have drifted off track a bit here. To the OP, as stated by Stavross, the RFD will write the ammo on your ticket, and no, you don't have to notify anyone when you buy ammo.

Delay until June now, what a total disgrace!
  23. As virtually everyone has said moisture trap is pretty important. Aldi/Lidl often do pretty useful deals, but I don't think this is one if you want it for a PCP.
