    Anyone got any recent "firsts". Last year i saw a swift sat on a telephone line, didnt think id ever see that in my lifetime. This morning just walked past a heron fast asleep. I was collecting mole traps up and it was pissing down. Normally my traps would have been clanking away but with my box half full of mud, plus hard rain and i walked past the heron to within 6 feet who was in the middle of a field with its head down. Its probably still there now!! Not a great first but the swift was. Anyone else?

    I'll be on it tonight and back on it tomorrow at 12. Hard work though, last year it took me an hour to drink first pint on new year day. Kept getting death sweats. Could well be same tomorrow, wifey has brought the "yard of ale" out from th attic for tonight. Could get messy.

    I grew two rows two years ago, prior to trying them. One of my biggest allotment mistakes, they taste like a cross between shit, piss and old grannys farts. Feckin horrible things. Ive spent the last two seasons trying to dig the feckin things up when they pop up. DONT DO IT.

    I had a cat that was obsessed with my aviary. The bloody thing wouldnt leave my goshawk alone, it used to drive it mad. It doesnt anymore because its now dead. I wont say any more on an open forum. I think one solution would be to buy a rabbit trap and catch the thing then let it go a few miles away, though im not sure of the legalities of this. Obviously shooting it with an air rifle early one morning while no-one was about would be illegal. As would poisoning it with bait laced with paracetamol. Or trapping it and shooting it.     I really think these fuckers need to get a job or something. I read a terrible article the other day about fishermen in Peru harpooning dolphins to chop up and used as bait to catch sharks. The fishermen were catching endangered sharks, gutting them and live young were coming out. It was a real powerful story, not at all nice to read to be honest, and then you read about these sabateurs going after fox hunters and pheasant shooters, they need to get a grip of the bigger picture, f***ing wasters. And dont get me started on kosher meat, why dont they go after these cruel b*****ds too, slittin

    Ive just ordered a wood burner, to be installed in a fortnight. The stove installed along with flue system was about £1200 (i think). It needs to be a defra approved stove to burn wood, and you need a hetas certificate as well.

    Theyre lovely. Popcorn squirrel is nice, same as popcorn rabbit-very tasty. Also just BBQ them, nice as well.
