Very nice mate. Ive just ordered a wood burning stove, getting it fitted in october. I will put some pics up. Just been out this afty and collected 2 van loads of driftwood already!! Canny wait!!!

Some top pesties on here, some great advice. I would have loved to have done an apprenticeship as it were with one of the big companies, thats surely the way to go for a young lad then you can decide to go your own way if you want with that all important experience.

Picked myself enough brambles for a batch ot bramble jelly tomorrow. Nice start to the season.

there loads along the tow path near me,all the bushes are picked clean,but there loads of big ripe plump ones on top and at the back where the pickers are just not brave enough to venture lol

Good day chinking with my boy. We usually go down just for a bit of sport, chinking out a few crabs and rarely taking any home, more for the fun but couldnt refuse this fella! Didnt take any photos once we got the lobster as we did a runner back with it. Got it back and had him for tea, beautiful. Exactly on the size for taking so we were happy with that.

just been chinking crabs with my lad and pull out a nice sized lobster. roll on teatime!!!

Just thought id give my book a bit of a bump. Ive been into jam making and chutney making for a few years now. Its a basic How-to book for making jam and chutney. I have sold hundreds on ebay and everyone says its a great book but its also available on amazon. For ease you can use ground ginger from a jar as well (i actually prefer it). Add one teaspoon of ground ginger for every pound of rhubarb.

NIce one mate, good choice. Would hate to see you posting photos of a bitten hawk. You will get some amazing sport with a male harris still, they are pocket rockets in the right hands.

Your bang on. A male harris is an accident waiting to happen. Strongly advise against if its a male as they arent strong enough or big enough to take a squirrel confidently. YOu need the right bird for the job , female harris or a red and then only if the bird meets a certain criteria.

My bowl of strawberries. Quick simmer before adding lemon juice and sugar Voila. Three jars of strawberry jam.

JUst got my first crop of strawbeerries. A good 3lb. Very impressed, they are big and sweet and fat this year. Im going to make strawberry jam with 2lb of them tonight. Pics will follow.

I got big into squirrel hawking. It's great sport. Wouldn't read too much into the pics you see, the hawks obviously weren't ready for squirrel in a lot of cases. If your hawk is a good footer, has a good attitude, isn't intimidated by you on making in and she is fit and a good size, you should be fine.
