  1. You'll do just fine with it Once you get your ranges sussed you'll be well away - I don't think you'll ever use a lamp again
  2. I use a NS Viper and an NVUK kit. So far they've both worked well on a couple of different MTC Vipers, a Falcon Menace 4-14x44 and a Hawke Airmax 4-16x50.
  3. Is that like a " no bad dogs just bad owners " kind of thing ? Possibly the most absurd phrase ive ever heard ! Kind of, yes. If a good owner takes a dog as a puppy, trains it properly, sets it's boundaries early and, socialises it well, the vast majority of dogs will be just fine. Also, if the right person, with the proper knowledge and experience takes a challenging breed and properly understands the dog, there should never be a situation that gives cause for concern. Most of the problems (with a few exceptions) arise when silly people just go out and buy what ever cute pupp
  4. Nice shooting Si. Always good to get out with a new rifle
  5. Download Chairgun mate. It's perfect for airguns
  6. My experience is based on Staffies and EBTs. No experience ot APBTs but, I appreciate the correction I've seen how a friends EBT pulls his youngest child away from the front gate by the back of his trousers and, won't leave the kids sides when they're out. Mum has a Boxer/Staffy cross. It looks like a 5 stone Staffy that stands around 24" at the shoulder. He's a beast but soft as shit.
  7. I believe it is down to bad owners, not the dogs. A dog is a pack animal, if it's shown it's place, given clear boundaries and properly trained, it'll be fine. Bull terrier breeds can be an excellent family pet as well very effective protection for the family. The problems occure when some chav turns it into a snarling status symbol.
  8. There was a Hatsan AT44 .22 complete with scope advertised for £215 posted on Airgun BBS earlier. It's a perfectly capable rifle and, a lot of rifle for the money.
  9. The thing that got me about that story was, that old soldier would have probably battered those pricks when he was in his prime. Rip old man.
  10. Ok, there's a few things to consider...... Buying new or used: you get a warranty with a new rifle but, used will be cheaper and may come with a scope. A springer will generally be less costly but, they do recoil so they take some practice to shoot accurately. They are more simple and, I think, more fun to use. A PCP will usually be more expensive, especially when you've added the dive bottle or pump. They are a lot easier to shoot accurately as there is no recoil. Also, there are a lot of multishot rifles available which is always a bonus when hunting. Then, of course, you ge
  11. But this bollocks was all ok. Ffs.
  12. Hi Simon, I'm not registered on AGF but, I do like to browse through it. In recent weeks there have been a couple of threads about the length of time it's taking Carl to get through rifles at the moment. Indeed, one of the guys on there threw all of his toys out of the pram because of it. From what I read, I understand that Carl had a bereavement in the family a little while ago and, this has caused a backlog of work. Also, from the posts on AGF, I gather that Carl is a crap communicator but, probably THE best pcp rifle man in the business at the moment. He gets nothing but gl
  13. Hi Lukey, First of all, Welcome to Airguns Before we can give you some proper advice .......... How much are you looking to spend? Are you looking for a Spring powered or a PCP (pre charged pneumatic) rifle? Atb
  14. Been called a twat all my life so feels like home ! Sounds like you're getting on with it well so far mate
  15. No need mate - I was just being an arse I've had 2 in the past, a .177 and a .22 - fantastic rifles, mine were both faultless
  16. You're not chopping in an HW100 for an Airwolf? Say it ain't so Hmm, the way you lot are going though, I might start a nice little sideline in Daystate PCBs and batteries 'This time next year Rodney.........'
  17. They've got a f***ing nerve - weren't the rspca responsible for being a law unto themselves and killing family pets/good dogs whenever they saw fit?
  18. I was close enough for a good look and, I couldn't see any other markings at all, not even a faint yellow collar - they were pure white, shaped like a feral. Ah well, I'll leave them. There's plenty more quarry to go for down there. Anyway, taking something that easy would just be target practice - it wouldn't feel very sporting.
  19. I thought I'd use a decent sized bit of board and nail the dog food tin to one end of it and, just put a slit in the tin.I'll smear the peanut on the other end There'll be plenty left mate - I haven't even tried the chicken houses by the lake yet
  20. I'm not their biggest fan either - JSB Heavies and a litter picker are the best thing for them We were sat in a hide a while back, watching this rabbit come closer and closer. It must have been about 10 yards away when my mate jumped up shouting and screaming - the rat that had walked onto his lap flew through air, straight out the front of the hide and, the rabbit that we'd been watching, jumped into the air then legged it - it's legs were running before it hit the floor. I was left in the hide alone, absolutely pissing myself :D
  21. It is mate. It's a nice place to just walk and hang around with the rifle. Also, it's only 10 minutes away from me
