Jonjon79 replied to just-A-snap's topic in General Airgun Discussion
You've been practicing this a lot Renos - I'd be interested to hear any tips you may have for improving standing shots -

Once You Gone Black , Another Stock Refinish
Jonjon79 replied to nath92's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
That makes two of us mate , i am however there to serve , all of my stock that are wood have the grain popping out Atb Nath I know mate, I like seeing the pics on your posts -
That's the same combo that I use BN ...... you'll easily take rabbits at 40 mtrs. If things are going well, you can add another 10 mtrs and still have clean kills Atb

Once You Gone Black , Another Stock Refinish
Jonjon79 replied to nath92's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
It's not my cup of tea either Nath But, I can see it's a quality job and, I've no doubt that it's owner will be happy I'm quite a traditionalist at heart - I love seeing the grain, any grain, come out on a wood stock -
Ah yes, also my favourite pellets - FAPs and RS in my .22 TX and JSB Heavies in my .177 HW100. I haven't had a bad tin yet
-
That does kind of make sense when you consider how some bugs have developed deterrents against predators ........ every day's a school day
-
They are big caterpillars, and with that spike on the back, I didn't know what it was My daughter used to be scared of moths until we told her that they're just crap butterflies lol. Nothing crap about that one though - she's been reading up on them since BGDs reply
-
Found it on Google....... it shows the caterpillar and the moth (Well done BGD). It is a nice looking thing
-
Thanks for the replies I did wonder if it was looking for somewhere to settle.
-
The dog was barking at it in the garden today. It looks like some sort of caterpillar but, I've never seen anything like it before. It's a big ugly bugger with some kind of barb on it's back end.

I've heard about this happening on air rifles with a harsh recoil. Don't get disheartened, you've been happy with it up 'till now. If there's no other damage, buy some quality stock bolts and, maybe, lay some innertube rubber between the stock and action to dampen the effect. Don't give up Atb.

Nice work Si That looks like a good perm The bag'll make an interesting barbecue.

S410 Post Anti Legality?
Jonjon79 replied to Alex Alex's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
If I remember correctly, it's fine to remove an antitamper if your intentions are to keep your rifle legal and in check. It's external power adaptors that have the potential to increase power beyond 12ftlb that they dont like. -

Definitely! Them Russians don't mess about

What's wrong with wanting our own country filled with people of our culture and heritage?? Nothing wrong with that at all mate. After all, the human species is very tribal. However, what we want and what we get are different things but, the ability to adapt is what has made our species what it is today. If you want to go deeper - it's just an evolutionary thing thing so, don't sweat it because you can't change it. ......... even monkeys kill other monkeys for teritory (no offense intended )
-
But would you disown your children for being with someone of a different race? No, of course not. My daughter will be her own person when she's grown up. As long as she picks a good man that takes care of her and treats her with respect, I'll be happy. If not ..... people will find out what a nasty c**t I can be.

Free Handed Standing Unsupported
Jonjon79 replied to just-A-snap's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Well said. This is sometimes the problem with talking over an internet forum and texts etc - things can be taken the wrong way and quickly deteriorate. Renos, good luck with your shooting mate If you saw my standing shots, you'd think I was epileptic flydamide Like it but you might of just upset mac and mark with that comment Nah, they've got shooting sticks -
Brazilian bird-eater?My kid wanted one when he was younger as a pet,but they were eighty quid?+ £300 for a 12g for if the f****r escapes I don't mind spiders but, I would NOT want that ending up under my quilt at night. I once saw a guy in thailand who used a tuning fork to bring them out of their holes, they sell tarantula type spider BBQ's in bangkok for tourists,a huge spider on a skewer with some soy sauce. Lol, I'd give it a go. I remember the first fox I ever shot. My mate talked me out of chopping a leg off. I was wondering what it'd be like cooked I draw the line at snails
