  1. Cheers mate. The missus said I was weird because I kept sitting there looking at it, thinking about what to with it before I cracked on. Women eh
  2. Hmm, I'm not too sure on those mate. They're at the cheaper end of of the springer market - I reckon a fair chunk of the cost may have gone into some of the gimmicky bits on it. There's nothing at all wrong with cheaper springers. I just think that your hard earned cash may be better spent elsewhere. Pellpax are selling the Black Ops for £199. For the same money you can get, among others, an HW99s.
  3. I agree with that. It's very satisfying just being out and learning the ground and the quarry.I enjoy the whole process of out smarting the prey on it's own ground and, getting within range for a nice clean shot. But, as I said on the other thread, I've used a .25 at nearly 50ftlb - that was an awesome bit of kit. Pellets that big, at that speed - 30-40yrd rabbits barely twitched. We could take birds at 70yrds - at 40yrds, it was knocking them off branches. Also, it was a lot more forgiving if the shot wasn't quite as clean as planned. Does this mean that a larger calibre benefit
  4. These boys don't mess about I love it when some knob thinks they're just ceremonial and gets a shock ..... There's some good clips on YouTube.

  6. Why FAC.It seemed to me to be another aspect of air rifle shooting which interested me. I also noticed just how many FAC airguns were around at very good prices, mainly because of a smaller buying market. My shotgun license was comming up for renewal and thought it made sense to combine the two at a cost saving and the farmer whose land I shoot on had no issues with me using FAC rifles, air or live ammo although I have no interest in live ammo rifles. I am NOT going down this avenue to increase range although I guess that may be posible but having the extra power brings it's own merrits,
  7. Cheers Mac. You're not kidding - I've done some stock work in the past but, this was my first beech one. I was worried about putting too much Nitromors on at first so, on the first go, barely any lacquer came off. On the second go, I put quite a bit more on and, the lacquer scraped off nice and easy. I discovered that I needed to be gentle with the wire wool or, it can leave grey marks on some edges. Thankfully these came out quite easy. I did a fair bit of testing with the black wash and varnish on other bits of wood before I put it on the stock. The contrast between the bl
  8. Cheers Si. This one's still a bit glossy but, it's more of a satin sheen now - it doesn't really show in the pictures. As for comparing the 2 rifles - there's really nothing in it, they're both fantastic. For me, I think a heavy springer with a quicker shot cycle helps my accuracy. It didn't take me long to get used to loading pellets into either rifle. I do it without looking in the breech. Same with the ABT on the TX - I've found that it's just become part of the motion now, I do it without thinking about it. I did reach up for an ABT on the Prosport a few times when I first us
  9. Cheers Rez. I am quite pleased with it. I surprised myself
  10. This was just before Felix Baumgartner stepped out of his capsule for that sky dive. It's a wonder he even got into the space suit with bollocks that big
  11. That's got to be the worst one yet To be honest, I can live with seeing the pictures. It's the hell that must have lead up to that point that gets me. And that one properly kicked my soul.
  12. See the mob gathering and jeering that policeman. Wankers. No respect for civilised society. It makes my blood boil that they think they can come here and behave like they're in a f***ing jalalabad market. As for crying racism - those c**ts are racist. That copper should have stuck the head on the prick then, called in his mates to kettle and gas the rest of the wannabe hard men. It just goes to show that that behaviour is in all of them. They're 3rd world fanatics - even the cowardly ones that keep quiet until they have safety in numbers. They don't mix and they don't belong here.
  13. ...... last 2 pictures For a first go, I'm pleased with it. Now, I've got to flog this or my TX. I think a day at the range with both is in order
  14. Some closer pictures of the detail in the stock
  15. Once I was happy with it, I gave it a black wash, made from half Hammerite and half white spirit. I put this on very lightly with a sponge. It did exactly want I wanted it to - it soaked into some parts of the grain and gave a really nice light/dark contrast that shows off the grain and features of the beech. When that was dry, I put on 2 coats of yacht varnish and, gave it a good buff. Also, I cleaned up the metalwork with degreaser and gave it a good rub over with 3 in 1, this made the shroud look a lot better. But, I still put a non stick camo tape along the barrel to help protect i
  16. I followed Macs advice with the Nitromors and clingfilm. The laquer scraped off pretty easy after that. Then I set to work with just 000 grade wire wool. This bit took a while. I didn't want it perfect but, I did want it a lot lighter. These pictures are at the half way point .......
  17. I'd been hearing good things about these so, when I saw one on the used rack at my RFD, looking unloved and a little scruffy, I thought I'd give it a go There's a few tiny dings and some minor rust patches on the barrel shroud. It's obviously done some work in it's life. It shoots very sweet - it turns out that it has someones tuning kit inside - delrin tophat, guide and a few preload washers. After a strip, clean, polish and regrease, it's shooting even better than before. Given the coice, I would have picked a Walnut stock. I'm not a fan of that horrible dark stain and plastick
  18. Hi Ken, I am also in Kenya - I live in the 3rd straw hut on the right. I spend my days brewing Umbongo in the hot sun and exporting it to the USA and surounding suburbs. Maybe I can use your contacts for my next shipment?
  19. Was this it? TC f**k me, that's grim. The poor b*****d
  20. Do they?....funny because I used to live in a little town that had a big rugby culture and all the blokes used to spend all weekend in each other's company drinking gallons of beer in the clubhouse......very homo erotic it was. There's nowt wrong with 2 teams of blokes getting together and enjoying the craic while trying to drink each other under the table after a hard fought game. You should have joined in - it's an experience to remember
  21. I live in a seaside town that's over run with the dirty b@stard things, they fully wreck the town on a night by ripping binbags to bits, there's council workers up at the crack of dawn cleaning all the mess up!!!They attack ppl in the street for food and if u touch one you get fu@ked by the law, massive fines!!! We're allowed to shoot vermin.... But not gulls !!!! Wtf All because some treehugger on the council blocks it I agree 100% Si - Oh how I wish Gulls were on the general license. ...... disruptive nasty little shit bombers.
  22. No, because they'll play rough and enjoy it without bitching. They enter the field and relish the minutes to come. It's a complete contrast to the way that footballers, European footballers in particular, have learned to dive and protest for any advantage. Women like an alpha male
  23. It is a homos game. They're a bunch of hair gelled poofs. You don't see rugby lads pissing and whining about a hard tackle. very true , but lets be honest here a rugger lad bulked up and more timber on them, to help take the bangs and knocks. a wack in the leg more so lower part very painful for a footballer, and been said if bust leg can finish there careers . my son plays alot of football and had some bad knocks, he toldme years ago you get less hurt in a tackle going in full hard, than holding back. and in football its to win the ball ,not take the man out, like it
