    There's some good intelligent replies put forward on the posts on here and, I can see the reason why we might want those contributors to comment on that blog but, it's just pissing into the wind.     Submerging it won't do any harm to it Steve. ......... But, if you really don't like the idea of it, you can wipe some soapy water over the joins - that should show up a leak pretty quickly. I've got some O rings and silicone grease here if you need any

    I'd go £30 - £40 on it. They were never an expensive rifle but, they are iconic and, they're getting on for being collectable. ....... From those pictures, the metalwork is a little rough but, the stock parts look to be fairly decent and, it seems to be complete. Maybe bung a drink in as it's from a mate - it'll be a nice thing to do up and shoot with. ........ I've no doubt that your grandson will enjoy it
