    There's nothing wrong with hunting posts - I dare say a lot of newbies learn from them (how many times has shot placement and field craft been spoken about on here?). ........ Hunting with a sub 12 air rifle isn't easy - we were praised for our skill and accuracy on Ted's Holdover.

    You both make perfect sense and, I can see where you're both coming from I have read the GL, I've also helped others out when I could see that they may be straying from the guidelines. I guess I just struggle with the fact that it's ok to buy meat, fish and poultry ready prepared in the supermarket but, someone isn't allowed to say that they've taken a couple of pigeons because they enjoy eating pigeon. ......... I know that, strictly speaking, it's illegal but, it just seems like madness.

    Honestly, I can't see anything wrong with taking a couple of pigeons for the pot. ...... I can't even see much wrong with someone taking one from their own back garden occasionally if it's going to be used and appreciated. I've got a permission where they grow their own produce for the farm shop - I've never been asked to try to decimate the pigeon population, just shoot a few if they're near. ....... If anyone looks back over some of my old posts, they'll see that I enjoy shooting just a few and cooking with them. I don't see that as wrong. Surely that's bet

    That's big Mark - that was the first time that I'd met him. Next to him is Dave - he's on the committee at Black Cat and, I sometimes go hunting with him. I can'tremember the names of the next 2 but, they we're a good laugh. On the far end is Keith, he's also on the committee - he's mr-mswindon on AGF
