  1. Cheers Jimmy Try to make it down for the summer weekender mate - it'd be good to have you there and, I reckon you'd enjoy it
  2. I was just reading that .......... https://tinyurl.com/y6dow8eg Fair answer from that MP - it's just a shame that the 'government ministers' involved didn't kick it down the road and delay it (as we know they can when it suits them) so that we could crack on as normal while it's sorted.
  3. It's always nice down at Black Cat when the greenery and leaves return in the spring so, here's a picture of the range and the lads Oh, and a bonus picture of the goose egg sandwich that I had when I got home ........... That was a good morning
  4. Next was the HW77k .22 with a Niko Sterling Diamond 3-9x42 - this scope has a No4 dot reticle that I've always liked - nice n' simple. Because the rifle is .22 and, the scope doesn't have adjustable parallax, I'm using it on x4 mag but, again, I'm quite liking that I spent a while checking the zero, then shot a couple of 15 shot groups at 30yrds. Falcon Accuracy Plus 13.43gn Polymag Shorts 15.75gn The FAPs are definitely what I'll be using with this one. The rifle does twang - pretty badly with the Polymags so, I'll definitely be havin
  5. It was about time that I tried out the 2 rifles that I swapped for my HW100 and, where better locally than Black Cat. ....... The morning started out fine and sunny but, we were forecast a bit of rain around midday so, the covered shooting bench would be ideal - that's exactly what happened. Plus, there's always a good bunch of lads down there ........ As it happens, Dave was down there today with my '100 - he's been liking it set up with his Photon. Anyway, first up was the S400 .177 with a Hawke Vantage Max 4-12x40 - it does have a Rowan mag conver
  6. Good luck Phil - I hope you get a common sense reply mate ? I reckon NE have probably had their phones diverted to voicemail on purpose so that they don't have to deal with the flak
  7. From what I know of a few of the farmers round this way, a change to the GL won't stop them from carrying on as they always have done. ......... If they've got pigeons on their fields, they'll shoot them. I don't think that the majority of the police and locals will be that bothered either - you only have to drive 10 minutes from my house and it's like a scene from Hot Fuzz
  8. A bit like when you're pellet testing and one lands in your neighbours tree
  9. Not all of us Dan - I only shoot air rifles but, I know a fair few shooters that don't want to see a ban on any field sports. ......... I don't want to see any of it banned - crack on as you are and enjoy it.
  10. You can get the parts that you'd need from a company called Best Fittings but, you'd have to make sure that the cylinder is less than 5yrs old or, has been inspected and recertified within the last 5yrs - if not, a dive centre won't fill it for you. Also, as already said, you don't want to use oxygen in a PCP rifle. Apart from being illegal, it's also combustible - the tiniest bit of oil or grease and oxygen at that pressure could cause an explosion. The yanks have been known to use stuff like helium and argon but, we're limited to breathing air only. My advice wou
  11. I reckon they're already f****d at the ballot box because of this whole Brexit fiasco mate ? From reading some of the bits of on the GL stuff, it looks possible that we'll end up with something very similar, if not the same - just a bit of word juggling to appease the lefties. ......... Well, that's what I'm hoping for anyway.
  12. I've just been reading this on another forum ........ The Government has bowed to Chris Packham and is banning most pigeon, crow, gull and Canada goose shooting. Natural England – the Government agency responsible – is “revoking three general licences for controlling certain wild birds as of Thursday 25 April 2019,” says the Government in a statement. It adds: “These licences (GL 04/05/06) cover 16 species of birds including several members of the crow family, Canada goose, some gulls and pigeons.” Chris Packham crowdfunded and launched a legal challenge called Wild Ju
  13. I love the pictures with the dogs in - you can see it's just waiting for approval before having that bun away Happy St Georges day ???????
  14. He'll get my vote There's no one better to deliver a proper kick up the arse to UK politics
  15. Well, even the fellas at the local tandoori are wishing people a happy Easter even though I suspect that it's not really their thing But, it can still cause agro on THL f**k it - Happy Easter to you all. I couldn't give a monkeys where you're from, what borders in the way, what march you like or don't - enjoy the free day off and, have a good 'un
  16. That's a bloody good idea .......... I picked up some goose eggs at the butchers - I might give that a go with a couple.
