  1. Don't need the recticle to be lit when you use a Nitesite Si, it's all on the screen mate including the mildots. Worth a test. Phil
  2. I really fancy the viper connect, it would be perfect for ratting but not designed to take add on nv. Still fancy one though. Phil
  3. I comp!etely agree Mitch however the sport or field Craft is not replaced by power, it is simply an alternative just the same as using live ammo rifles or shotguns. All have a place in the sport of shooting and all will give pleasure of use. As an example, one area on my perm containing rabbits has no hedges, gullies or tree line so unless you want to crawl at least 150mts or get there in daylight a lay for hours and hours, you will not get a shot with 12fpe rifle. The FAC offers an alternative, it is that simple. Horses for courses Phil
  4. Like I said Jon, young eyes but no bloody good for us old tarts with less than good eyes. Phil
  5. Those UL scopes are fine for you young chaps with good eye sight but I can't see without adjusting focus, MTC are mad for stopping production of the Mamba Lites, I have four, spot on. Get your act sorted MTC...................................that's not going to happen with that bunch in charge. Phil
  6. I think you mean Carl at Airtech Simon.............................it's just an age thing, trust me, I know. Good to do something back for the big fella, pleased it works. Phil
  7. A song by Mark Harrison if I recall.........................................two old buggers together here Renos remembering that one. Phil
  8. No Mitch, that was my 45fpe.
  9. Get that paperwork filled in Si, I love the fac aspect so much mate. Jimmy, you could make an enquiry with the firearms officer and have a chat, what do you have to lose mate and you might be surprised and it depends if they are interested in stuff a long time ago. Worth an ask in my opinion. Phil
  10. About 7pm last night I popped over to one of my perms, nothing around so just out of interest I shot at a small white stone using the Impact fac at a lasered range of 71mts. The shot fell just short so gave it 2 mildots and the stone went off to the next county. A little while later I saw a rabbit, 83 mts but did not take the shot as I have not done enough testing at longer ranges and didn't wish to hit the animal without being pretty sure of a kill so I spooked the rabbit and shot at another stone close to where the rabbit was 3 mildots and just over the top by perhaps an inch. The po
  11. Tons better Jon. I do not understand why in this day and age when there are so many different types of screw/bolt heads available, why the hell do they use the flat blade type of head, the worst on the planet for releasing or nipping up......................................................sheer bloody madness . Rant over I hate em Phil
  12. An interesting point Renos but I think it depends on the gun, age and ease of getting of the gun you want. A new'ish gun is normally 2/3 of new or how it works quite often and older guns, less unless they are in demand such as Rapid. I think you just look at the gun and it's price then decide if you want to pay that price. I buy from RFD's but have bought several from forum members and on other forums and never had an issue with either guns or scopes. Phil
  13. Bis Mags are made by H&N so does that mean most H&N pellets are not too happy in Daystate guns I wonder. Phil
  14. I am loaning you the chrony as well Rez not just a lump of wood if you want it or am I at cross purposes. Mark.............had that same thought myself today mate. I did a list of stuff I needed for the garden on my next visit to the garden centre. Phil
  15. After spending the morning doing a bit of gardening< I had an hour to spare this afternoon so grabbing an offcut of wood I decided to make a shield for Rez to work with my Chrony and to make a target holder to fit an aluminium easel that my wife used to use in her work. I needed a single sheet of wood to protect the Chrony from a stray pellet (not really needed with our Rez but nevertheless it would be useful for me at a later date as I am not as good a shot and with FAC power to fcuk the Chrony, I won't take any chances. The idea of this is to use down range, simple and basic but it wi
  16. I didn't expect to see this advert Jeff, sit on it matey because as you have said above and in other posts, it is a keeper. If I had some spare mate, I would have it in a flash and sell it back to you when you came back to your SENSES................................... I hope you find something that gives you the same pleasure Jeff. Phil
  17. Yes Mark you do. They are treated the same as any live ammo rifle but you can share a cabinet with a shotgun or two if space allows although many shotgun cabinets are too shallow for the rifle and scope to fit. They fit in both of my cabinets but I would not be able to get the same number of rifles as I can shotguns because of positioning them slightly at an angle. Phil
  18. Sport of kings, I love ratting. Phil
  19. Good on yer Mitch. Don't forget to put on the form that you require sound mods for each gun otherwise you will have to apply for a variation afterwards and the RFD will not be able to supply one until you have it listed on the ticket. Just a thought. Phil
  20. You need a helper to come along and check behind the wood plate and record the figures while you get ready for the next shot.............................wifey perhaps Phil
  21. Being a retired ole tart, I have no access to metal working but I can put together a wooden plate with a 2 or 3'' hole to aim through so that if it goes through, it will pick up the sensors to get a reading. I will knock something up over the next few of days Rez and I will let you know mate. Phil
  22. Well taken Mark. I wish I was good enough with a springer to shoot live quarry, I don't include the TX because that is just too heavy to walk around with. As I get some time in on the Airsporter perhaps I will get better, still thinking about a break barrel with a good 'Charlie Caller' tune up. Phil
