  1. I am pleased to hear you are not going increase the power as it will be great for a child mate. I had a look at the Ultra Junior at 6ft/lb when the BSA rep called in my RFD a few weeks ago and it got me thinking about a little gun for my grandson when he is old enough. Charlie is only 3 years old but is really desperate to shoot with his daddy and grandad. The only guns I have seen that are really suited to a small child apart from the BSA above are a bit crappy with Co2 power and it would be nice to see a few decent guns for kids without being silly money. Nice one Jimmy. Phil
  2. Only had one Mountmaster and to be honest didn't use it much as it was on a gun I bought but it seemed quite a nice little scope although I didn't get to a stage to know if it held zero. I was about to buy another last week to go on the Airsporter coming from Mac as I had sold the other with a gun but instead I picked up an 'as new' Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 AO scope which fits the bill very nicely. I must confess that I really only like side focus scopes but I wanted to keep the weight down on this gun so we will see how it works soon. Phil
  3. Well I will tell you this Jon...................................left handed, bloody good on yer mate because that is very impressive for a right handed shooter. Must have a go at that for the sheer hell of it. Phil
  4. B&Q have threaded bar SI and it is quite cheap, just a thought. Phil
  5. There are also two new models out, the Streamline and another with all the tech bits including internal barrel sleeves to match to a given pellet but I'm very happy with my Wildcat and Impact. Phil
  6. Now there's an open ended question if ever I heard one. Hope you find something you like. (FX) Phil
  7. Phil also likes his Rapid .22 FAC as well Jon.....................................................come over to the dark side matey, you know it makes sense. Never mind the Chrony Si, what about that other item we talked about in Rob's shop, has he got one and are you buying it Phil
  8. I get some pellets and odds n sods from Uttings, superb company with brilliant communications. They are very very helpful and the ONLY large dealer I will order from. Phil
  9. .20 or .25 of course JOKE Phil
  10. Where would this forum and it's members be without our Mac ????????????????????? Well it would be a lesser place for sure and that is not being unkind to the forum or membership. Phil
  11. I don't know where you live, it might help if you stated that but whatever, you should be able to get an RFD within driving distance to order you the gun of your choice. I am not too wild about using one of these supermarket gunshops to supply me my guns for a couple of reasons. Firstly, if we just deal with the supermarket guys, your local RFD will have no real business left and therefore not enough profit to stay open which in turn means no local supplies of all the small stuff we buy and secondly you have no direct contact with a dealer so he doesn't know you from Adam and may not care a b
  12. This is the place to go and get loads of info bullpup wise. http://forum.bullpupmad.com/index/ Phil
  13. You just wait until you shoot that air sporter Phil Nice is not the word mate atvbjimmy  Looking forward to it Jimmy. Just bought a Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 AO scope from another forum today, should be spot on for the Airsporter matey an not too heavy. Phil
  14. Funny but I don't like shooting rabbits as nobody wants them, we don't eat them and I don't know anybody locally who does but I need to knock a few off to keep the farmer sweet. Give me rats or pigeons any day. Nevertheless Jon, nice shooting the first bunny of the year. That stock looks superb, beautiful shades. Phil
  15. It will be interesting to see if BAR are going to stock the new FX guns after the slating they gave the Impact, particularly after they voted it in the top ten guns. If I were ASI, I think I would not allow them to have the new guns. Phil
  16. I must admit, when I first saw the FX Streamline a few months ago on a youtube review, it looked like FX had really taken on board the fact that not everyone could afford their usual offerings and good for them. The weight and price of this gun seems to tick a lot of boxes and along with the new model that has just been launched at the recent trade show (can't remember it's name, senior moment), FX are bringing some super guns that don't look like my Impact but have just as many technical features and look like stunning wood stocked guns. Phil
  17. Hmmm A thought provoking topic Rez. For me, I wanted my TX to be smoother shooting because I found it very difficult to be consistent so in that case I had two issues, firstly that I was a crap shot with an untamed springer and secondly I wanted to enjoy using the TX which I didn't before Charlie Caller did his magic. With the above in mind, I would say the man who can shoot an untuned springer with serious accuracy is a better shot than someone like me who needed the gun tuned before I was able to produce the goods. Phil
  18. Right mate, I will put my thinking cap on and see what we can do. I need to have a chat with the farmer to get his ok and take it from there. It is trying to time it when there are pigeon during the day or a few rabbits at night because it is a long way to come and have little to shoot. Leave it with me Jimmy. Phil
  19. You have put many smiles on many faces Jimmy whilst I have been on here so that is a lot of 'WOWs' and I can well understand it, I will no doubt be doing one myself when I meet up with Si. Phil
  20. I think you are right mate, I will be speaking to Si later, we can try to do something where he can also have a play with the Impact which is on his radar for the future. What a fantastic range from the Airsporter through to high tech Impact, 12ft/lb ish up to 45ft/lb, something to suit every mood and demand. Phil
  21. Well I have the shorts as I am never out of them unless shooting but the white shirts and ties went to the tip when I retired and I suppose I am reliving some of my youth through air rifles anyway so I am ready to embrace a bit of nostalgia now. Phil
  22. She is a keeper Jimmy without any doubt whatsoever, I had already said that to myself matey. Phil
  23. I now need to start looking for a nice little scope. I would love to put something in keeping with her age but in truth my eyes are not good enough to shoot with any scope that doesn't have 'AO' otherwise I cant see fine detail so I will pop into the RFD tomorrow and see what he has in the s/h cabinet. I wish I had still got my little Leapers Bug Buster scope, that would have been ideal. Phil
  24. I am really so very very grateful Jimmy, you keep showing us all just how generous you are mate and to be very honest this is another example of what makes this forum different to any other, it is not a forum, it is an extended family. I will accept you generous gift Jimmy and say from the outset this gun is the gun I could not afford as a lad but always wanted so it will be cherished mate, always. Thank you so much old friend. Best regards Phil
  25. Well done that man, just building up to a rabbit foray myself. The HW looks good. Phil
