Being a retired ole tart, I have no access to metal working but I can put together a wooden plate with a 2 or 3'' hole to aim through so that if it goes through, it will pick up the sensors to get a reading. I will knock something up over the next few of days Rez and I will let you know mate. Phil

Well taken Mark. I wish I was good enough with a springer to shoot live quarry, I don't include the TX because that is just too heavy to walk around with. As I get some time in on the Airsporter perhaps I will get better, still thinking about a break barrel with a good 'Charlie Caller' tune up. Phil

I could be kind and loan you my Chrony although I will make a mask for it first so you don't fcuk it up. To be honest I am going to make a mask for it anyway so I DON'T FCUK IT UP. If I hit that with the FAC, say goodbye Chrony. Phil

My RFD has one in and to be honest it is lightweight and feels really nice in the shoulder. No scope fitted so I can't get the true position . I suppose my concern would be if this has a load of early issues that the Compatto went through then you are needing Daystate to be helpful.................hmmmm Phil

Me neither Renos but am I tempting fate by even think that let alone saying it.................................wash my mouth out. Phil PS I had forgotten the Walther RM8, total bag of crap, power all over the place, glad to see the back of that low quality garbage.

Sorry mate, I don't have any spare HW or any other mod at the moment, FX don't need extra mods Phil
-
Thanks Jimmy. Not bothered about increasing power levels at all mate, if it stays at 9fpe, that's fine by me. Phil

Just come back from the range Jimmy, very nice mate. I am a bit inconsistent but no surprise there, just need to find best hold position, I guess because she is an old lady and doesn't have the finesse of the TX, it will take me a little time to get to grips with her. I tried JSB RS and Express, AA Fields, RWS Superfield, Bis Practice and FAP but none stood out that much although AA Field were a little better. I am going to put it through the chrony when it stops raining and although they are not available locally, I am going to stick with either AA Fields but more so JSB RS or Ex

Right off to the range for a bit of pellet testing in the Airsporter and of course learn how to shoot it Phil
-
Thanks David. Now you know why I have a camo Hatsan semi auto for rough/pigeon shooting. Double locked the doors and alarm on Phil

Your wish is my command gentlemen. Beretta DT10, 32'' sporter. You can't see from this photo but the action is a high gloss, simple plain elegance. Phil
-
Yes they are a US brand but that doesn't mean they are all made in the US. I don't know Rez, it was just a passing comment and first impression. Phil

The little ones look very much like a Leapers Bug Buster, possibly made in the same factory. Phil

The 687 is quite nice but not in the same league as my DT10 32'' sporter......................................no no no I only went out for a couple of hours on the farm and gained two more pages of chit chat. We have to sort this meet boys apart from the Harrogate show. Phil

Aa S410 Superlite .22
philpot replied to Torquemada's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
As it is a .22, try the JSB Exact Jumbo RS 13.4gr, I really like these, they fly flatter and got a good knock down performance. My pal has the same gun and he scrounged some from me, he is now a convert. Phil -
Well I am hoping so Mark...............................another in the club perhaps. Phil
-
I have just established the gun was made between 1983 & 1986 and it is a Mk7. Just something I wanted to know. Phil

Keep up the good work Renos Phil

I have picked up the R10 so many times in various gun shops but never actually bought one. They feel nice in the shoulder but I just do not like the bolt at the rear of any gun. A side lever is so much more comfortable to use and sits in a natural position. A friend of mine keeps buying HW100 guns then sells them and buys R10's then goes back to HW100's so they both do a great job. Overall I think the R10 feels nicer to hold with a much better shot count than the HW100. Round and round we go. Good luck with whichever you decide on. Phil

Thanks Mark, I think there are some opened tins at the range but if not, I will say yes please. I am hoping after the accuracy of the TX with AA Express, I am going to try JSB RS and FAP which are the same pellet although in FAP guise they were shocking to feed/index in the Wildcat but the RS version was a good rat killer with no indexing issues. The Hobbies would be easier to get hold of locally as a side thought. Phil
-
Okay, I have some of those and a test selection tin of JSB pellets so I think I have enough to start off with. Phil
-
What pellets did you try in her Jimmy.

Can't wait to shoot it Jimmy and I can see the effort that you have put into this sleek lady. Phil

It really looks nice Si, next time we get together I would like a closer look at that, could be one I am interested in because of it's weight. Really good meeting you today mate, thanks for taking time out to bring the gun for me. Phil

Today Trish and myself met up with Si and Amy to pass over the BSA Airsporter. Jimmy I thank you mate so much, she is a cracker. I didn't open the case whilst with Si because we couldn't get the cars close together in Beverley and not such a good idea in the middle of the market square so it was not until we got home that I had a good look at her and my goodness she is lovely. Just popped on a Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 AO scope which just sits really nice. I would have gone for a scope of the period but in all honesty my eyes need AO function to get things sharp. I will be taking it to th
