    As I had done some short range zeroing at full power, I decided not to fart around and left it at 45ft/lb Jon. I have put my name down for a 12lt air tank which are being retested this week, Impact and Rapid FAC guns get through some air................................. One annoying thing was that I had forgotten to take the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme pellets which I really wanted to try out so that will have to wait until next time but as there is quite a bit of rain due over the next few days, I think it will be next week. oooer, I said 'next' 3 times in one sentence, oh well.

    I took my son in law ratting for the first time tonight, he was using his Ultra XL along with my old NV set up and as this was the first time he has shot any live quarry, I really needed to be on hand to help. Now as eager as I was to try out my fac Impact, I had to be very aware that cattle were all around us in the sheds and the rats just outside the sheds after the cattle feed. I know things can be a little tricky at first using NV with lots of eyes looking back at you and in this case many of them were cattle so high alert on my part.     Welcome aboard matey. Both Mac and Nitevis have suggested far better alternatives. The Brocock has had good and bad things said about them and a friend of mine had two, one good and one bad. Don't know anything about the Hatsan but can say for sure it will have no exchange value when you want to sell it. If you are dead set on a bullpup, save up a bit more and buy an FX Wildcat in .177, lightweight, super accurate, cocking lever in the right place and over 200 shots per fill. The BSA Ultra and the Weihrauch HW100 will leave both of those for dead and will ALWAYS sell second hand.

    Well it is time to be impressed chaps, my FAC variation came through in 13 days you have to admit it, that is bloody good. This of course means that I was able to bring home my new toy, the Impact .25 ..................Yahoooooo And they have issued the spare barrel on the ticket with no problem. It is all good so now I just need this storm to go forth and multiply so that I can get on with some serious play time Phil

    Yes spot on Rez. With big pellets like these, you can actually see the difference in finish between JSB Kings and AA Fields so perhaps some tin antimony in one of them to change hardness of the lead. I will have a go at a couple of photo's to show what the eye can just see but not now, I'm off to sleepy byes. Phil

    I know the results may change when it gets out to 60mt but until my FAC variation comes back, I am stuck with the RFD's own 25mt range. 45ft/lb is the the max power for .25 and is the optimum power setting as far as I know. There is some tweeking available to the user but until I am able to take the bugger out to the big boys range, there is no point messing around with it at present. If I buy the .22 barrel kit, I found out that the kit changes the power to the optimum for .22 which is 30ft/lb ish so a new set set of power bands are then available.which I think may well give between

    I had planned to spend a few hours at the RFD range today where my Impact is sat waiting for my ticket to return. I have bought a small selection of .25 pellets to try but the session had to be a brief one as the range was closing early and so only 40mins to try the pellets. Before anybody says it...............................25mt is far too short a distance for an FAC rifle but it is all I can do for now. Not too happy with my bipod arrangement just yet but that is something I can spend time with when the gun is at home with me. Anyway, these are the pellets on test A very q
