  1. Blandford, I shot a big clay competition there back in the eighties, great place as I recall, don't know if the shooting ground is still there though. I have a small wooded area on one perm which might be worth having a try with a feeder but not an easy place to shoot, pick up or even use a feeder. What is a good bait food this time of the year. Phil
  2. There is one in my RFD Jimmy so I might just pop into the range and have a few shots with it. I would not wish to have it up at FAC levels though. Phil
  3. Black seems right Jimmy, got to be black. Phil
  4. There is no real difference in price it is more to do with which finish has greater appeal. On this rifle, the walnut with it's rosewood touches just looks so nice in wood rather than synthetic finish. Phil
  5. Sounds interesting Tim but what the hell is it. Phil
  6. Perhaps Rob is telling me porkies then Si because he said he could not understand why BAR had all these issues and he has had no issues at all.
  7. I have used half a tin on pellet group test and in the field on rats and feral pigeon. They run on the same zero as AA Fields so no issues and they group as well as the AA but p!ease be aware I have only done tests out to 25mts as the winds have been way to wild to do any distance work. The kills are impressive to say the least. The best prices I found were from Uttings even with carriage cost they are cheaper than Voymir. Get some,.......... Phil
  8. I used Bisley Practice .22 a couple of weeks ago which seemed okay but because of the sharp edges of the flat top, they were not good loading into the Cat's magazine. Phil
  9. I must admit I think they are just hunters but thought I would check. I just ordered a couple more tins of the Extreme in .25 and one in .22 to test in my Rapid FAC along with a test in my son in law's Ultra XL. I have to say I am very impressed with them so far. I tried the standard Hunters in the HW100 which were very good indeed, now I think about it, still got half a tin so I will try them in the Cat. I should have ordered some .177 Extremes today as well.........bugger. Phil
  10. Are we talking about H&N Barracuda Hunter Extremes here boys. Phil
  11. I got them from here Si :- https://www.weihrauch-sport.de/air-rifles?lang=en I tend to take very little notice of BAR.................................FX Impact.................................tosh. Phil
  12. The TX is 4.0k Hw95 is 3.4k Hw98 is 3.8k Hw85 is 3.4k Hw50 is 3.1k Hw35 is 3.8k Hw57 is only 3.2k for an underlever making it very light but don't know if it is a bugger to load. The BSA Lightning.......................can these be in the same league as AA and Weihrauch and is a tuning kit even available. I will look on BBS. Still pondering Phil
  13. Right chaps time for some input here. A couple of you know that I am toying with selling my wonderful but heavy TX200HC Mk3 .177 in favour of a break barrel. Now the TX is a tack driver since Charlie Caller worked his magic unless your name is Pianoman in which case it was a tack driver in his hands before tuning BUT as a pensioner (It does sound weird saying that) I want a lighter springer without the loss of accuracy. The other advantage would be pellet loading in the dark being better with a BB springer. It is about 52 years since I bought a BB springer, BSA Meteor, so not in touch wi
  14. Are you using Accupels in the FAC Rapid Billy Phil
  15. I went back to the dairy farm for a quick hour session on the rats to see how the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme pellets were running in the Impact. They are one hard hitting pellet. I lost a few in the deep smelly stuff but these are some that were recovered. Phil
  16. Nah.........I am retired so I do the house work so she won't find them too soon. Phil
  17. Never mind the rifle....................................love your hair style Nelly and the avatar heading........... Phil
  18. Sorted, now all pellets are living in a couple of seed trays under the lounge suite.................................until my wife finds them Phil
  19. It will be interesting to see how much this model will cost and how good it is in daylight Mitch. Phil
  20. True but I think the atmosphere has effects on the surface coating of the lead. Tin Antimony used to be used to harden lead and stop damage to the surface but not sure if this is used in pellet production. I found a tin of pellets in the garage that had been there for a few years and those had gone darker with a few flaws in the surface which is the thing that got me thinking in the first place about pellet storage. Phil
  21. Hmmm thanks guys, I think I will find a place for them in the house. Not much point holding on to pellets for testing if they have perished in some way. Phil
  22. Listen you are talking to an ole tart here so how the hell do I do action shots because I am not walking around with my DSLR in one hand and the Impact in another. It is easier for you to have a play with the Humber Canon yourself.................... I am not good with modern technology boys. Not sure about the effect of those H&N Si, it may be more effective at lower power, can't tell you until the wind blows the birds off the roof unless of course the buzzard gets them all before they fall off. I don't really think I will see the effect until I have a go on the rats. Phi
