Decoying Wood Pigeon With The Fwb Sport& Hw 100 Kt
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
Well shot Mark and a perfect situation when the airgun fits in better than the shotgun. I still prefer to take them on the wing but that is just me. Phil -

Sub 12Ft/lbs V F.a.c. Inc Calibre Question.
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
As usual Simon, a post well written with sound comment. Phil -
Sounds really nice Jon. My dear wife has just looked at your pasty and just MIGHT be tempted to try rabbit. I do hope so because I got another perm today with bunnies on. Phil

My Impact is .25 running at 50fpe, on min power setting without altering anything else she sits at 25fpe. I was going to buy a .22 barrel kit but in all honesty, I get a really nice flat trajectory at full power so it does all I want it to do. Phil
-
Yes, I suppose it is Moxy, sorry mate, didn't really think about it but the FX mags are pellet fussy, wildcats are also a bugger with the wrong pellet. Phil
-
You can buy interchangeable barrels and adjust the power accordingly. All the way up to .30 Different calibres you mean? Yes
-
I have not had a single issue with the Impact on either mag BUT they are designed around JSB pellets so if your pal is not using JSB, get him to try them. My FAC version loves AA Field 25.4gr and JSB King Heavy. FX guns do not like FAP pellets although again JSB RS work very well. While I think about it, I have two friends who have the Impact sub 12 and again they both use JSB or derivative pellets and no issues at all. Just a thought Phil

I take my hat off to both of you Si, a springer at that range, way beyond me I think. Mind you, I think any range will be beyond me at the moment as I have been using the shotgun extensively on pigeon and it is always the case when I switch from one to the other, I have to find the 'feel' of the gun again. Found a fantastic warren on the new perm tonight so I had better get my eye back in again. Phil

That is a shame, I don't do facebook but would like to have seen this..................ah well, never mind. Phil

The farm where I do my ratting has tons of cattle feed so little point trying anything else BUT I did try mashed cat food with olive oil mixed in to make a soup type consistency which worked quite well in one area where I had trouble getting them to stay still long enough to get the shot off. Phil

Nice one Mark. All the stubble at my end is rape and this year they seem to have left longer stems behind so the birds on the ground cannot be seen so the rifle has stayed at home while the shotty has been busy. Phil

Sub 12Ft/lbs V F.a.c. Inc Calibre Question.
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Okay Mark, perhaps I have taken this the wrong way and if so, I hang my head in shame but the offer still remains, if you would like to put my FAC to the test and find out what role they play, you are very welcome to come over and blast away. This will give you far more insight than other people's thoughts on the subject. Phil -
Sub 12Ft/lbs V F.a.c. Inc Calibre Question.
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
If you really wanted to learn about FAC air Mark, you just ask if it is possible to come and try one out. So far you have not done that, instead quoting stuff you have read or heard or seen on the bog paper or just your logic that it is an excuse for no field craft. I do believe you are fundamentally opposed to FAC air with some weird notion that you are the only guy on here using field craft. If you are happy in your misapprehension then fine I guess but if you really want to learn, then come over and I will take you out so you can find out for yourself what FAC air is all about and wheth -
Sub 12Ft/lbs V F.a.c. Inc Calibre Question.
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Don't think I am going to bother with this other than saying until you have used an FAC in the field on live quarry at longer ranges, you simply cannot appreciate just how good these guns are. Powder burners are not always best suited either as in tree top shooting (safely) but also in areas where there are public footpaths even if not used such as the ones I have across one of my perms and the FAC air is far better suited in this situation. I can turn down the power and shoot in the farm buildings and surrounding areas as well. I just don't know why you keep wittering on about FAC ai -
Trigger Stick Gen 3 Short Tripod
philpot replied to davedavedave's topic in General Airgun Discussion
For some reason it will not let me edit the post but what I was going to add was that the tall version is from 24'' - 62'' so perfectly suited to sitting or even lower with the legs further out and of course perfect for standing shots. Phil -
Trigger Stick Gen 3 Short Tripod
philpot replied to davedavedave's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I got mine from Bushwear who often have sale offers and normally better prices than anyone else. Not a cheap item but nevertheless superb. They are not showing the short version as in stock but they would be your best contact in my opinion. Can you not use the tall version ? https://www.bushwear.co.uk/primos-trigger-stick-gen-2-deluxe-tripod-tall-316957.html Phil -

The gun looks ace, the cammo suit looks ace..........................but as already said Jimbo, lets have a smile. What make is the suit Jimmy. Phil ps Are you still wanting the scope mate or are you sorted now.

Is This A Manufacturing Fault On The Master Pro Stock ?
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Pretty poor Mark. -
Not enough fills on my FAC guns with a 4lt so bought a 12lt now good but don't know how many fills as it is still going on the first fill. 4lt just to take to the range or out in the field. Phil

I do like the under lever Tim by the way have you got any further with the Kral or has it beat you as well lol atvbjimmy  Yes and no mate, I am waiting for a scope to arrive for it, I have done some fettling, polished the life out of the hammer and tried a few hammer springs, I think I have found the sweet spot, around 160 bar down to about 110 bar, it is shooting consistently and most of the twang has gone, its a strange pcp for sure, it seems to favour light pellets which as you know is normally the preserve of springers, I am looking forward to getting it scoped -

It sounds impressive Mark. Similar in weight to the TX ? Phil -
Well I don't know my onions when it comes to this little gun BUT I rather like the look of it, it would make a great little ratter. Does the cylinder come off to refill or via a fast fill valve. Phil
-
The only thing that I have read or seen on the web is the need to ensure moisture is not transferred into the cylinder but I suppose that is taken care of via filters fitted inline. At a fiver to fill a bottle, it is not something I would have need for. Phil
