Yes I was the same Simon, watching Tim as he did my TX to perfection but as soon as I got back in the car with my reworked TX, everything he told me had gone. I just don't take on board that sort of info, I wish I could but I don't. Lovely guns but just too heavy for me, still fancy a 'Tim tuned' HW57 ...................................................... perhaps one day. Phil

Shortly followed by a .22-250 etc, I can almost guarantee it I bet his pension gets some hammer this month lol dj It just did John but I will be a long time dead. 22-250 oooooer Tim, I had not thought of that but then we are into much more expensive ammo .............................. the pension ................... the pension Phil -

Ahhhhhhhhhh You have me Steg old boy, yes I have gone to the dark side for some of my shooting, just awaiting for the variation to come back and I can go and pick up my Anschutz .22 rimmy................................perhaps its an age thing, get one before I am too old to use it. Phil -
I have FAC air and can confirm it is not an open ticket. Each cal must be listed but of course you just put N/A regarding ammo. I suggest checking with the landowner if anyone at any time has had the land looked over by the police for a previous request as it will be a formality because the land will be listed as approved for fac then the farmer will not even be contacted most likely as it was in my case. Speak to the firearms dept regarding driving offences and the fact that you cannot remember them which I assume means they were quite a while ago and the police can and will check it

Very nice shooting Mark. Phil

Certainly tough although the recticle is not very good for hunting, perhaps designed as an airsoft scope not target or hunting scope. Phil

Deerhunter Avanti Jacket Vs Jack Pyke Field Smock
philpot replied to joelad's topic in Shooting Equipment & Accessories
I have both and both are decent but Jack Pike zips don't seem to last so well. Given the choice I would put the Deerstalker on top. Superb quality, lightweight and very comfortable to wear. Having said all that, I do like my JP jackets and they get plenty of wear. I'm not helping really......................sorry mate. Phil -
Okay, thanks Ian, what range do you sell. Phil
-
Nice result Si and I fully expect to be seeing the three musketeers on Saturday eating rabbit sarnies as you walk into the show Phil
-
I'm pretty sure Ratworks could do that for you. Phil
-
Ah sorry Dave, just saw you have a CZ. The one I am getting, I think, is an Anschutz but can't remember the model ..................................... I will check it tomorrow. Phil
-
What gun do you have Dave and are you coming up to the show on Saturday mate. Phil
-
Thanks Walshie, yes you are right on both counts, it is a .22LR and again it may well be a different result in my gun BUT at least it gives me a start point and I do need a start point. I am not switched onto the better makes of shells like I am with pellets or my shotgun cartridges so looking to perhaps save myself both time and money. I spent so much on .25 pellets for my FAC FX Impact air rifle and would like not to buy every bloody make on the planet. Good advice always well received. Phil
-
As I am in the process of buying a .22 rimfire, I am going to buy different shells to establish what suits the gun but in the vain attempt to save a bit of cash, where would you experienced chaps point me in the right direction. Phil

Nuff said Mitch. Phil

Thank you Rob for a comprehensive response and just what I had hoped for. I am going to the South Yorkshire Shooting show next weekend and will be spending a little time on Scot Country stand but very strangely today I heard of a chap who lives only a few villages away who actually makes thermal spotters, believe it or not for the paranormal !!!!!! so I will be trying to borrow one to try out, it will be worth a go. I am very curious about the Seek range for the job of finding shot quarry which are a lot less money and I would assume much shorter range although that would not be a big issu
-
Please forgive mu ignorance guys but I have been toying for a while about a small hand held thermal device to find shot quarry, ie pigeon in crops or rabbits at night and with this in mind what would you suggest. I am not interested in a thermal scope, quite happy with normal NV Phil

The request to your doctor will be that if the doctor thinks your condition makes you unsuitable to hold an FAC to advise them accordingly. If you are unsure, ask your GP but if you are talking years ago, I would simply say no. Phil

Phil, I have tried chairgun a number of times and never yet got a result that actually works ....................................... it's me, I know it's me but I just cannot get my head round the bloody thing. It is out in the field for me at measured distances to get the hold over info. I think Hawke are going to be at the South Yorkshire Shooting Show next weekend so if Doncaster is not too far for you, have a day out with some of us and have a chat with Hawke at the same time. Phil
