My Wildcats were a .177 and a .22 and to be honest, I had no issues at all. The .22 ran JSB RS pellets and the .177 ran either AA Field or JSB Exact again with no issues. Both rifles were very accurate but as Si has said, stick to JSB pellets as the guns are set up on them in the factory. H&N pellets were rubbish and would not group at all neither would Falcon Accuracy Plus, in fact the FAP's could jam quite easily. We all like different things and different designs so the choice is yours. I think my Impact is an ugly gun and I have never liked the look of this type of gun BUT the

Used a wolverine but never owned one. I have had two Wildcats and loved them but they had to go in order to buy my FX Impact. These guns are quite different with the wildcat being a light and fast handling gun, the Daystate is much heavier and with their customer service record despite some people have no issues, I would not buy any gun made by them. Just my thoughts. Phil

To be honest, I play safe and use a range finder except when I have left the bloody thing in the car then I just guess. When I got my first perm, I put up markers on the area I was shooting in order to estimate distances but gave that up as range finders are not so expensive and easily available on ebay, no brainer really. I am thinking of going the same route as you Tim............JIMNY, just for shooting. Phil

If the Nissan does what you need Jimmy, keep it as it will be far better made. The Great Wall will not compete with the Ford Ranger you fell in love with at the Northern Shooting Show either. Just my thoughts mate. Phil

Some months back while crow shooting with the shotty, I had a police helicopter come over to take a closer look. I was picking a few dead birds up to set on cradles and just waved to them and popped back into the hide. They must have assumed I was there with consent and flew away. I did expect a police car to come for a look as a follow up but that didn't happen. Must be my innocent face Phil

We have a number of very experienced guys in your neck of the woods who would possibly meet up to show you some kit. It is well worth going to a range and simply asking people what they think of the rifle they use and most people will let you have a try with their guns. This way you may well come away with a much better idea of what you like and of course don't like. You may even find a gun for sale there as well. Good luck in your search. Phil

The impact is running at 50fpe using AA Field 25.4gr I have tried JSB Kings and King Heavy but neither group like the AA nor do any of the other .25 pellets tested in fact some were shocking. Phil

For that price, you could have a 3lt air cylinder and take only 15secs to fill the gun. Just a thought. Phil

Oooohh sounds very interesting Jeff. Phil

I am not qualified to really answer that with knowledge other than to say that I now understand why the cal is so popular in the US. So far this outfit using .25 Air Arms Field at 25.4gr is doing a very fine job for me. I was going to buy the .22 barrel set up for the gun but that thought is long gone as far as I am concerned. A.a Field 22 16 Grain Vs Jsb Exacts 22 15.98 Grain
philpot replied to Lee.m's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
They are made by JSB but using AA's own mould which would suggest there could be a slight difference although in .177 I have not seen any when I used them. Phil
