  1. Even though I love my Impact, I do have a hankering for a 110 in .22. Just something about them. Nice shooting Mitch Phil
  2. I really did like mine but in truth, they are not as quick to position your hand in a rush and just when a bunny hops out. Great looks though. Phil
  3. I am just picturing Si trying to carry you into the garage Jimmy ....................... erm, don't think so. You will be down again soon Jim, only a few weeks to the South Yorkshire Shooting Show. Phil
  4. Too shocked to speak...................................K fcucking T .........................................what is the world coming to, our Jimmy with a KT. Phil
  5. Nice going NP. I popped down to my rat perm the other day to see if there were many around after all the rain but as yet very few have come back into the farm but now the harvest is well and truly in progress, they will be making for home ground soon I think. Lesley H Gedge ............................... where do I know that name from ??? Phil
  6. Ahhh you sussed me Dave you old git. Made me laugh mate and that is for sure. Phil
  7. I will have to answer that after I have done some proper long range testing as the pellet flies much flatter than I ever expected but in essence, you could be right. Phil
  8. I must confess Jon, by the time I had walked back to the start point and back again as I was meeting my pal at the end of the wood, I was both knackered and sweating as it was bloody hot last night. It was however worth it. Phil
  9. Earlier today while crow shooting or I should say no crow shooting as they were not where I expected them to be, I also had my FX Impact FAC .25 and decided to play at a bit of target shooting from the hide on bits of pea plants that were left from the factory units that had just finished harvesting all the pea crop. Now whilst this was not accurate target shooting just some extreme range plinking. A couple of hours later we were heading over to a large warren in the edge of a small wood where I had placed a hide next to the rabbit fencing, 30mt away from a superb rabbit highway or in
  10. Been rabbiting tonight and whilst retrieving a bunny from the freshly cut wheat field, we were aware that we had been joined by several dogs very eager to get hold of the rabbit. It turned out to be a chap and his son taking their dogs for a walk. We explained that they were in the middle of a large private farm estate and we were actively shooting vermin. The chap said he loved rabbit pie but has not shot for many years which was a shame as his brother has just bought a 250 acre farm down the road, well not to look a gift horse in the mouth, we offered the chap our rabbits and exchanged t
  11. His thoughts were well mean't I'm sure but most of the guys on here have shot for a great many years so perhaps already know but welcome aboard anyway. Phil
  12. Funny how things come about really. I was fishing at my village pond which has been bought out from the wanker who previously owned it and during a chat with the new owner, he told me that he has put in an otter fence but the bloody rabbits seem to still get through, Hmmm, here goes. Have you thought of shooting them, no came back the reply......................................12 acres of ponds and trees, rabbits and woodies, only a little perm but 2 mins away so spot on. Phil
  13. Just clicked with a butcher here to take rabbits, not sure if he will take pigeons as yet. I have been told to save all my crows as there is a guy who will pick them up for his pies , perhaps that is where the song, 'four and twenty black birds baked in a pie' comes from, originating from times in the past when food was hard to come by. Phil
  14. Thanks Mark. That is interesting and in principle is the same as I do myself but my curve (arc) is to the left or right depending on wind direction. I know the pattern I mentioned above is more for shotgun than air rifle but I very much like your thoughts mate, I will give that a whirl when next out with the rifle. Just thinking to myself, I am going back out later today after the crows, the hide is already set up and my new ghost net has just arrived so I will take it up with me and drape it over the top of my hide . I will have the rifle with me anyway as I am on the rabbits late
  15. Billy, you must have some cracking perms in your neck of the woods matey. Fantastic result for you both. Phil
  16. I did look at the pattern Mark and although I can't see too much of it, I am assuming you are keeping a nice hole in the middle directly in front of you. I am always interested in successful decoy patterns for shotgun or rifle as we never stop learning. I do tend to use either a horse shoe pattern or a steady curve to the left of right depending on wind direction which to be honest I have found works quite well so the birds always drop in against wind in front of me. If that is not how you are doing the pattern Mark, please do tell. Phil
  17. I used the forend stud, works fine and no drilling Si but if you are having a sling .............................. one hole needs doing. Why the hell the manufacturers don't fit studs as standard, beats me although I know BSA do on some of their guns but they all should. Phil
  18. Thanks for the heads up Mitch. I will give that one a miss. Phil
  19. Nice one Si, I prefer the shorter version but after all I am an aging ole tart as you know. I am going to look at the FAC versions ( or 110) as a back up to the Impact as soon as I can afford it. Phil
  20. All the NiteSite models will switch in seconds from rifle to rifle. It is a big help to be using the same scope on each gun to keep the focus on the camera the same. I use Mamba Lite scopes and don't need to change the focus at all but I did need to fart around with the focus when I used MTC on one rifle and a Hawke on another. If possible buy the 'R-Tec' version because it has a superb dial focus ring on the outside of the camera so very quick and easy to change focus setting and far better than having to play around with the camera lens to focus every time you change rifles. Phil
  21. Very nice Dave, very nice indeed. Phil
  22. If you say so old pal ..................................... utter shite but nevertheless, if you say so. Twat Phil
  23. Well shot Mark and a perfect situation when the airgun fits in better than the shotgun. I still prefer to take them on the wing but that is just me. Phil
  24. Quote :- 687 multi choke Sporter by the way, far better than the 686 silver pigeon BOOM ! BOOM! shot guns is simply " proximity shooting" and empties the land immediately - crap ! For sale, one boom boom gun that is no good for shooting pigeon Phil
  25. As usual Simon, a post well written with sound comment. Phil
