  1. I must just be lucky then....................................................................I don't think so. Phil
  2. Thanks Mitch for the heads up. I have found a ward on a mamba scope for sale and now rapid's pulsar ...........................................sorry guys limited cash and really need to get my head round this BUT I would thank you all for your input. Phil
  3. Are the s/h ones on a forum Ian and if so, which one. Phil
  4. I have the gen 2 which is superb but the gen 3 has a lock system to set the legs at any angle which is something I would like. If you are walking with them over your shoulder with the legs out stretched, as I do at times, it would be very handy to be able to drop them and take the shot quickly without any movement of the leg angle, the height and leveling ability is not affected whatsoever. This has a further advantage in that you can shoot from a very low position with the legs set very wide and shallow and with the lock it would certainly prevent any slip which can happen when using the unit
  5. Yes Ian, it is at the top of my wish list but not cheap so saving has to be done but Rabid's might do for the time being depending on price and my pal may be interested so worth looking into. I really do like the idea of the ward although I will need to speak to Clive before buying one as they have a special fitting to work on MTC Mamba / Mamba Lite scopes and others with large knurled recticle focus rings which I found out today on NV forum. I need a little job, bloody pension.................................... Phil
  6. Good man Matt, what goes around, comes around so we look after each other. Phil
  7. I was given actual figures Moxy but that was over a year ago and to be honest, I cannot really remember what they said but I THINK it was something like 3 guns returned with a seal fault, one with a bottle fault and the rest were user faults. Phil
  8. It is of interest although it does look rather heavy but right at this moment I am trying to get payment from a young lady who smashed into my car as we agreed to settle outside the insurance .................... Perhaps you would be good enough to pm me what price you want and I will try to find out some info on the 550 as I am not at all knowledgeable on Pulsar. Phil
  9. What a great video, I have never seen a dog climb like that before, brilliant. Phil
  10. To be honest Ian, nearly all the problems have come with the sub 12 guns and talking to ASI, most issues have come with people tinkering with the gun to 'tune' it and that has caused guns being taken out of a good working set up, ie altering power beyond the dial and messing with reg pressures or hammer spring pressures. In fac which is about 85% of all production, there has been very few issues. The Crown is a lovely looking gun with the same features as the Impact plus barrel liner inserts to suit a pellet type but at an estimated cost of around £2.5k, it is not going on any wish
  11. Not as good looking Ian but good to a 100 mts at 46fpe and with 16 shot mags, very handy at night. Phil
  12. Nice one Mark. I recon that I spend perhaps 4 - 5 times longer driving around the farm estates and walking the known and not so well known areas than I do actually shooting. It is amazing just how much I see and learn about the perms by simply walking them as well as it being an enjoyable time in the country. The advantage of being retired................................just wish there was more money Phil
  13. Now that my OLD friend is what comes with age and I know exactly what you mean. I should have been out last night but my chair was soooo nice, just couldn't leave it all alone. Phil
  14. Ian isn't the only one either Moxy, my FX Impact .25 fac is without doubt the best air rifle I have ever owned albeit not the nicest looking. Very nice rifle Ian, clearly a man of taste. Phil
  15. Nice one Pesky, ratting the sport of kings........................... With the nights turning cold, the rats are starting to show around the cow feeders although not many yet but I managed 19 in an hour and a half so happy with that. Roll on a few more nights of frost and the buggers will be all over the farm..................................oh dear, that's a shame Phil
  16. Might pop over to this one. Do they have a range at their shop or is it somewhere else. Phil
  17. Hmmm a conflict in response, I need to look through one I think. Phil
  18. I must confess that does sound a good route Ian whilst keeping the overall gun weight down and using the normal scope during the day. I know you said your head position remains the same when the Ward is fitted but I can always fit a bisley butt pad or similar with different thickness pads for use with / without the add-on. The Custom Rifle rangefinder is very similar to my NiteSite unit and I am sure I would be able to use it on both set ups with a bit of thought as it works very well indeed. Phil
  19. Really don't know as I do not know what each model does but I can tell you it will be fitted to a .22 rimfire for night time rabbiting. It would have just been a bonus if daylight shooting was possible like it is on ATN X SIGHT although the Ward 700 / 800 sounds ideal then I have the best of both worlds but still use the NiteSite for ratting in and around the farm buildings and cow sheds as this works a treat. Phil
  20. Thank you both for that feed back. On you tube footage, I have only seen recticules that have no mildots ( for want of a better term) and thought there would be some method used that I was unaware of. I do have a NiteSite rangefinder fitted to the NV which could easily be used in another set up. I really like the NiteSite on my FX Impact .25 fac for my ratting being very comfortable to scan the farm buildings and prefer that to any other......................................................until of course I get another which may well change my outlook. The rabbiting is where I feel a bett
  21. As a NiteSite user, I am able to use my normal holdover scope settings for distances beyond my zero as of course we can on any 'add on' NV systems but as I am reviewing my NV set up after some good advice on here, I have no idea how you establish a holdover system on units such a Pulsar, ATN and Photon although I know there is a method within the software of ATN's X- Sight to adjust for different distances but on small targets such as rabbits, perhaps not a method I would use. So the question is, how do you establish correct holdover on fixed NV units. Words of wisdom please chaps.
  22. Those very thoughts have crossed my mind Mitch and if I had not been able to sort it, that would be going in the bin rather than sending it back to those arse wipes. Phil
  23. I just did a test from my photobucket account John and it worked fine but as the photo was not on this subject, I removed it. The scope issue is now sorted however. After playing around with the mag ring, there is a small grub screw, once removed and the mag ring slid forwards, I found that there is a cut-out for the grub screw to run in which in turn controls the mag setting or I should say prevents the mag ring from endlessly turning. This had bent hence the scope being out of alignment. It suddenly struck me that the Mamba Lite and I think Mamba scopes have a much
