    I am a newbie to rimfire use and heard a snippet at the weekend whilst clay shooting when a chap was saying about how big an effect the cold has on Winchester subsonic 42 max shells. I didn't have the opportunity to quiz the guy further as we were shooting on different squads so the questions I need to ask are :- 1, It this true 2, what effect on zero does it have 3, Are there any shells which suffer less than the Winchester in the cold I have only used Winchester so far but will over time try other shells anyway to see if better groups can be gained with different s

    You don't need to have the rifles in a steel cabinet as yet but it may come in as part of the government review on airgun licensing. I have two large cabinets and may either replace one for an 8 gun or simply buy another to take care of the air rifles and lets face it most of us have tied a few quid up in these guns so make it difficult for thieves.     If you take this a stage further and perhaps saw Country File a couple of weeks ago where it was said that if there was no doctors report, there would be no license. Now on a bit further, it was also stated that conditions such as diabetes could be enough to refuse a grant, fcuking madness, this is way out of order, then add to the issues with waiting times and adding an airgun license into the pot and we have a situation that is way out of control. I am not too concerned about a license for airguns if I am totally honest as I already have both shotgun and firearms licenses so one more or

    I was having a long chat with my shooting partner today and we decided that we are going to do more air rifle shooting over decoys this year so will be doing a Mark Williams although not sure about taking the freezer in the hide matey.............................. Phil

    Si and Matt...........................not one penny did I spend today at Swillingtons gun shop but I did help my pal to part with some hard earned cash on his new Browning T Bolt rimmy. That is a busy shop but not my kind of shop or should I say mad house. To be honest I just wanted to leave and save my bit of dosh for another day. Phil

    A bit tricky this Phill as I have also looked on their site.....................................hmmmm, not easy. I have always known mine simply as a T20 and T50 but the T20 is not showing at all on their site. The T50 I have is the XC50 and to be honest I think their XC38 is a slightly larger version of my T20. I bought mine on the bay of plenty at better prices than shown on their site and in fact my pal bought this one last week for close to medium distance work and whilst not Optic Fire, it is an Osram torch so it should be fine and as another friend has one exactly the same which he

    Can you still get mags for them from anywhere or do any other mags fit the FN19. Phil

    I have not found the glare from the NiteSite screen to be a big problem to be honest and an nv rangefinder soon sorts any guess work. The new R_tec version allows the screen to be turned down independently to the is beam. Phil
