Yes I know but which ones, nevertheless it would be good to test them because I get different results between JSB and AA Fields. Phil

When I first looked at the photo, I thought you have a lot of boots.....................................then twigged it was the shop...........................it's an age thing. I quite like the stock to be honest for target work. Phil

I think that is what is known as 'SOD'S LAW' Chris. Phil

Bat signal ......................................I like that Jon, interesting idea though. Phil

My shooting pal bought an Optic Fire TX67 IR torch for shooting at longer distance and it does just that however on his rimmy, there is not a lot of room to fit the T67 which presented an issue. Yesterday I popped into my RFD and borrowed a Tracer Ledray IR which is listed to have a 400m beam....................................................not so sure about 400m but at 180m it gave superb results and I am sure it will illuminate out further but that was not being checked and of course for both fac air and the rimmy, it will serve my pal very well. I must say the detail shown via the two NV

My fac .22 was a Rapid in which the AA Fields 18gr was nothing short of superb. My fac .25 is an FX Impact and again the best result is AA Field 25.4gr. I tested a number of pellets for both fac guns and the JSB products do give the best results but I have not tried FX branded pellets as nobody in my neck of the woods sells them although I would like to try the .25 version. H&N have not been great in either gun although the Baracuda Hunter Extreme did come up well but not quite as good as the pellets I use. Phil

I would Ian without doubt but I have a problem with my right eye which will get worse so the NiteSite will allow me to use the rifles in both day or night shooting. Phil

They are just another air rifle and the thought of leaving this mottley crew is unthinkable and I am sure Mitch will be the same. Never go back..................................I love air rifles and just bought a sub 12 FX Streamline from Si so it don't mean we will move of to pastures new NO MATTER HOW MUCH SOME MIGHT WISH IT Phil

Look at the next thread down Phil which may give you an idea of compatibility for your needs but from a post on there, you would really need to go for the eagle. I really do like the Nitesite, it is just that the company state what range the different units will reach and I have not found that my Viper will reach 100mt nor will the Wolf reach the 300mts stated, as outlined by Yokel Matt so perhaps the Eagle will give you the coverage you really need. Phil

Hi Shaun No I have not tried to sell the scope just in case I needed a spare in the near future why, are you wanting one. Phil

I am pleased to hear that I am not the only one who finds their claims to be somewhat over stretched, shall we say. The sight is very good but my Viper is good to about 65-70m although I stated 80m in my opening thread but checking things last night while out rabbiting, I need to revise the distance, then I need to switch on the T50 strapped on my FX Impact. The Wolf at 100 - 150 would still be okay for both my rimfire .22LR and also my Impact FAC air rifle but it does make you wonder how Nitesite can get away with the claims actually put into print which are clearly wrong although I have

I know what you mean, I have the Impact and you get what you pay for, superb but expensive. There was / is an FX Varmint for sale in the sales section, a couple of pages back which I think would be a better bet. The ratcatcher, as I am told, is a fun little gun but prone to temperature conditions as are most Co2 guns but as I have no direct knowledge on this matter, I am only repeating what other people have told me including my RFD. I can tell you that there is an SMK pistol with a green handle (sorry, can't remember the model) which a few guys on another forum use for ratting and have f

How come you have NV on the rifle when shooting in the day or do you just leave it on all the time as do a few shooters. Good result by the way Phil

A Very Succsesful Air Rifle Decoying Pattern For Wood Pigeons.

Peas already wow, in my area it is all Birds Eye planting and they have advised the farm estate manager, where I shoot, that the will be drilling in May. Quite a difference but I guess that will produce a steady flow of peas through the growing season and of course, you generally get warmer weather earlier than we do. Phil -
Just put the link up on your thread.

Blimey, a response to a 2012 thread, you must have been digging deep among the past threads. Sorry can't tell you anything about the guns in question though. Phil

Mixy " Disgusts and infuriates me "
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
A really awful disease brought in from Australia. I generally find we get one year with mixy and then two or three years clear, then it starts all over again. An old friend of mine used to live in Australia and worked as a truck driver, he said the fields could be brown / grey colour which were rabbits. Many of the truck drivers carried a gun of some sort and often shot the rabbits for a barbie lunch at the side of the road. He told me that you didn't need to aim, just roughly point in the direction of the field and you would get at least one or more. Whilst I hate mixy, it must have been -
Yes the Viper through both my MTC Mamba Lite and Hawke Airmax scopes work fine. I have seen your NV units which are spot on but if I am being honest, the Nitesite is so light with the overall weight being minimal, there is no excess weight of a T50 or T67 on the front end of the gun pushing the balance out. It is this reason only that I use Nitesite and a great many of my shots are taken free hand walking around which becomes very uncomfortable with a heavy torch up front and the main reason I gave my other NV to my son in law. I have seen the results from your NV and don't knock them at

I have a Viper which serves me very well but to be honest it looses steam about 80mt or a bit less so I have a T50 strapped on to boost the light. Now this works okay with my FX Impact fac air rifle because I have weaver rails built into the rifle so adding an extra torch is easy however I also use the Viper on my .22LR and this is where the problem lies, there is nowhere to fasten an extra torch. Now the Wolf is supposed to be good out to 300mt which way more than I need but would allow me to stop having to add an extra torch. I use the Viper for my ratting as well as rabbits and the ran

Bad Weather = ( Maintenance Time )

Your locker is like my garage the day after I have had a big sort out, if only it still looked that way after two weeks......................I wish. Phil -
View Advert Lure fishing rod and reel I am thinning down some of my Pike / Zander lure gear and as I have a couple of these items, I have decided to let one set go. The rod is a Dragon X-Treme 12-42gr, 2.3mt, X-fast tip action. These rods are built on carbon made by Toray of Japan who if you didn't already know is one of the top carbon manufacturers in the world and using this carbon, Dragon rods have produced a superb very fast handling rod which makes casting lures a long way, quite easy. This rod is a back up rod and as such only been used a couple of times
