  1. Well I would try them in my Rapid FAC. .22 Phil
  2. Really not sure mate. I think it is fine on a range gun but for hunting ??? Having said that, Hatsan produce a pink cammo semi auto shotgun and I know a woman who owns one which she uses for all her pigeon and duck shooting so what the hell, it may not matter at all. Phil
  3. Strangely enough Jimmy, I have been playing around with it today. I was hoping to test out to about 100mts but the area which is ideal for setting scopes and holdover at distance has sugar beet all round the green lane running through it, low wind area, BUT today they were cutting the crop.......................................bugger. If all goes to plan, it will be later in the week. I have been sat in the garden a few times looking out across the fields to get used to the feel of it and have to say I do like it. It does seem a little strange looking through a digital image with one
  4. Bresser are a good make normally starting around £50 up to about £500+ so I wouldn't have thought it to be so bad. Phil
  5. That stock looked pretty bloody bad Jimmy, had it been in a barn for twenty years or so. Whatever, I am sure it will look good when it is done. Colron used to do a black oak and Jackobean dark oak stain which just might be perfect for that Jimmy, if they still do such a colours. Just a thought mate. Phil
  6. Do we see a rangefinder coming up for sale soon ?? Phil
  7. I have the NiteSite rangefinder which is spot on although more expensive than the one above. I am just about to test a Photon XT on my rimfire and will also fit the rangefinder to that so it should be just right. These things are a total game changer...............................buy one Degsey, you will not regret it mate. Phil
  8. Well done that man (and lady). Always good to share the sport, my wife shoots clay pigeon with me.........................................high grade gun, clothing, cartridges and entry fees................................................no money left, costs me a fortune but I like to see her have a good round. Phil
  9. The only problem with the Combro is that they are no good with FAC airguns. Wish I still had my F1 although if I were to buy another now it would be a Skan unit, same as the rfd / police use. Phil
  10. That looks spot on Toby, just right. It looks like this idea will have to go on back burner as my youngest daughter just came in from work to tell us that the village shop that she works in, is closing tomorrow. I am really hacked off for her so no doubt we will have to help out until she gets another job. I know there is never a good time but at Xmas it just seems worse, I am so sad for her. A new gun just doesn't seem important at the moment. Phil
  11. Thanks guys, plenty of food for thought there. I take on board what you say about the SMK Matt but I just don't fancy one. The BSA guns can be tuned should I want to at a later date which gives me more options than most. The Ultra / Scorpion guns are nice and light so very comfortable to walk round with which is also something I like. Phil
  12. Hmmm The Scorpion sounds ideal, I will have a look around for a s/h one. What sort of shot count could I get from a .22 Scorpion. Cheers me dears
  13. As some of you know, I am taking my 6fpe AA T200 up to 11fpe to use for ratting as I am not doing much target shooting at the moment BUT I really do like this little gun at 6fpe and am toying with keeping it as it is and look for a PCP for ratting...................................but what. It must be cheap as I use the FAC Impact for everything else so this will be just a ratter. It also needs a decent shot count so not an Ultra despite the fact that I like them, oh yes please do NOT suggest a fcuking RM8, total sh1te. Just food for thought at the moment. Phil
  14. I have been out today for a drive around the big perm and found a large number of pigeon really hitting the rape. Looking at the leaves, I am pretty sure the rabbits are also taking a fair bit as well. Different skills for shooting a fast flying woodie compared to the rifle but both give me great pleasure. Good luck tomorrow Mark. Phil
  15. Cheers Jon. To be honest most of my ratting is around the cattle sheds so the range is only 10 - 20mt max and I think either of these may be better than AA Fields as an example. I have the Hunter Extremes so I just might buy a tin of the shorts in .177 but thanks for the offer mate. Phil
  16. Again Napier. Interestingly, I have had a pellet clipping issue on my Impact which is resolved but during a chat with ASI, they said on the Impact, as it only takes approx 30 seconds to remove the barrel, use a cleaning rod not a pull through and use brushes. I bought a kit as I needed one for my rimefire anyway and using the nylon brush, it soon shifts any crap in there then the polishing mop. So fast and effective, suits me instead of messing with pull through wipes. Phil
  17. I wish I wasn't born in 79 as well Jon but alas it is not the case. I am the same as Mark, slip over the radiator but as I don't have an airing cupboard, I leave it next to the radiator for an hour or two after wiping any excess off before hand. Phil
  18. Good on yer Jon. I confess that I have also been thinking about getting the two point rest for mt tripod as I think it could be spot on for the rimmy. Do you find the polymag or the Hunter Extreme to be equal in their kill rate or are you preferring one over the other. When my T200 is converted to full power later this week (with luck), I am going to get a tin of polymag to test along with the extremes I already have and I am guessing it will be the shorts version but not sure what is suited to the 200 mag. Love my ratting...................sport of kings. Phil
  19. Thanks Matt, I will let you know if I come over there. I remember fishing with my pal at Molfre rock and taking 11 species in one session from a weaver to a conger all from the same spot. Brilliant venue Phil
  20. Nice one Matt, at least you got out mate. Now that perm is spot on, when the shooting is done, down onto the beach and blast a bait out for the cod after picking up some peeler crab from the swilleys (not sure how to spell it but you know where I mean). I used to travel over and fish there quite a lot a few years ago, love the place. Phil
  21. We have had a few snow showers today but no volume as such, my horse trough pond is frozen and the water spout has some nice icicles hanging from it. I thought we were going to get a good snowfall today but so far nothing to bother about with none settling. I need to do a couple of jobs on the 200T tomorrow and then off for a ratting session as the farm is alive with them again. Phil
  22. I have had so many different wellies and boots for both fishing and shooting and two years ago I decided to splash the cash and buy a pair of wellies that I have been thinking about for some time...........................................the dogs doo daaa's, total comfort, walk miles in them and toast in the cold or in water. https://www.lechameau.com/gb/vierzonord-neoprene-boot.html?c=280 Sod the price...............................treat yourself, it's CHRISTMAS Phil
  23. At that price, what a gift. Phil
