    Ive seen similar severed ligaments with tell tale flat toes infact my good friends bitch done this in her first season as said if properly rested they can come back strong enough and with abit of luck it doesnt hamper them again. Its a tough old life for a well worked lurcher.

    Seen hares boxing yesterday foxes been pairing for a while. Dogs picking up odd 3/4 grown rabbits aswell i know they breed all year but fair play to them surviving early winter

    Just seen some of the replies to this some good posts cheers lads. You fellers that do this alot would you say a dog can learn to range or its in them from the start ? I must say had another morning out and am really enjoying this type of sport

    See i think thats the thing alot of coursing dogs are alright killing a few hares and the odd other thing that pops up but ive found a hell of alot of them when your giving them regular stick on stuff they can run it abit longer than needs be and wait for mistakes especially on the lamp. Seen some decent ones aswell but there few and far between.

    Deffo its abit mad what the lurchers can bring back to ya after a shoot day. Birds are probably chucked in a hole or burned anyway

    I could be wrong but isnt yours saluki/bull/grey on both sides ? Ive spoke to a few lads that have give these types abit of stick they reckon the best types come from bull x one side good day dog the other. Ive access to decent coursing blood its finding the right type need a strong animal that aint to small or slow and obviously would do whats expected. And most of the decent buul crosses ive seen have been small. And sheepchaser i would go careful tarring everyone around here with that same brush. Ive met some folks even those that drive the land that show alot of respect in the

    Aye i use the gps thats why i like doing this sort of thing now no more worries of losing dogs never to be seen again ! obviously its better if they brought up on it but accidents can still happen cant they just like everywhere else. Was more after how you lads like your dogs to work fo you loose them and they fly off do you walk along and they bump things in front of ya and all that.

    Id be interested to hear your favourite types for this sort of work lads and what sort of distances you like them to go on stuff. Ive me eye on a couple young prospects for abit of this work but be nice to hear how others bring there dogs on for this sort of stuff.

    Looks a good walk out. Im very interested in a couple teckels for bushing work do you find they drop tonground alot and will they work real tight cover.

    I like em myself think for abit of this n that they good dogs but as said only really see lurchers with a chunk of collie in them i aint seen many dogs lately straight collie greyhound is what i mean and the ones that are about dont seem to have many collie greyhound bitches going to them do they. Mind remember seeing a real nice one on here howler or something similar id love an animal like that for finding in the forests.

    Haha my mrs and daughter got one each ive had allsprts of dogs n these are good bit of fun to have about chase a ball all day play fight constantly with any pups ive had about. the oldest one prob seen more game than a good few lurchers ive pics of it bringing clipped birds back n that.

    Used to feed alot of game now only feed bruised venison n hares i allways boil the hares bruised deer just gets chucked down as it is.

    How many folk actually work straght collie greyhounds now ? I can only think of 4 people off the top of me head all dogs n nobodies cuing upto use them on bitches as far as i know ...

    Can anyone recommend me a camera to mess about with for someone who’s a total begginner please ? Looking to take a few pics of dogs doing different work n odd few pics of goldfinches and that. Got a couple hundred to spend on it but cheaper the better haha.
