Had a unplanned last minute camp on Kinder last night at the Woolpacks area. Really bloody hard walk up with the big pack on. Got asked by buss full of Chinese looking young people how far back to Edale and which way to get there! Told them exactly 2.8 miles as i was tracking my route out from there and pointed them in the right direction. Found a nice little spot overlooking Jacobs ladder. Sun came out for the last half hour before disappearing and them the temperature plummeted big time. Cracking morning though listening to the Cerlews and a Cookoo. Had a Kestral buzzing around me too. Packed up early and was back at the car in Edale for 8:00 this morning. Nice little trip out.

See on the thread you started. Use Google to find campsites in the area you want, there's loads.

Nice night away last weekend, only a quick one as didn't get away from the yard until 11.30 ish after laying concrete. First night in the tentbox and can say we enjoyed it and slept well. I usually prefer a more remote camping spot but we were meeting friends in their camper and they wanted electric hookup so headed up to baskerville Hall in Hay on Wye. Cheap enough £24 for two adults for the night and they leave you alone to it.

Does the truck move much if you’re trying to get it on in one of those tent boxes ? 🫢

Back out on Kinder scout again last night. Had company this time and it was first time out for a lad that I work with. It's an absolute killer of a walk up from Edale upto Grindslow Knoll.. especially with big pack on!! Really steep going up but once your on top it stays pretty flat. Good night. No drama's. Didn't really take any pics either!

It's a good little work out though to be truthful and feels like you've earned your snap and a can or three once your set up. Hitting the lake district hopefully next month!

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
