Just to put a little perspective on this 646,000 people died last year alone from flu, so far we have 26 cases in the uk of which some haven’t even shown symptoms. Cornonavirus is just a different strain of everyday flu, so far the only casualties are elderly and/or ill. All being blown up by media hype and scaremongering.

The main difference is flue kills around 0.1% of people infected as opposed by corona that has a fatality rate of between 1 and 2% so if corona infects as many as the flu you can multiply that number by about 10 ?

The other problem with Corona v Flu is currently there is no vaccine for Corona virus, so to try and prevent spread/infection drastic measures need to be in place, ie. Quarantine and isolation....its already proven how fast something like this can travel around the world, so reacting quickly can only be a good thing

I do appreciate those points but I also think the fatality rate is probably lower than 1-2% as many of those who have tested positive have shown no or very little symptoms (symptoms more familiar with common cold) so there are probably 1000’s of people that have it that aren’t included in the official statistics which then means fatality rates look higher than they really are.

My mate was flying home to London from Berlin after a working trip 2 weeks ago. So on the plane he comes down with a fever & brings this to the attention of flight staff.

Cabin crew ”we think you have corona virus. We can have an ambulance waiting for you on the runway to take you immediately to hospital, but if you choose that option we will have to quarantine the whole plane for two weeks!”

My mate “err..... maybe I’m not feeling that bad?”

Cabin crew “ok second option we can have a paramedic waiting for you in the airport & they can escort you to a hospital”

My mate “ok”

Cabin crew “actually no paramedic available in airport. We recomond you get a taxi straight to a hospital”

My mate “ok”

Plane lands & my mate just gets a cab straight home & sweats it out for a couple of days! ?
