  1. SHH, treatment these days is more advanced and they have a better chance of survival than they would've even 10 years ago but still, more will die of it than not. Bloody awful thing to see a dog struggle with. We tried to save a litter once at the clinic I worked at ... they all died. I will never forget the smell of parvo for as long as I live.
  2. Parvo is airborne - a dog can spread it if it's jabbed or not. You can track it into your house on your shoes. A parvo jab (usually) prevents a dog from contracting the virus but not from spreading it if it's been in contact with a dog who has it or in an area where the virus is rife.
  3. That one I'm sick of , it's always someone with a super overweight dog asking When folks say that to me now I usually just deadpan answer 'not every day' just to see their faces

  5. You're a good un Undi. I left the kennel open over night last week, too lazy to go out and shut them in at bedtime. Woke up in the morning and they'd killed one, I was gutted
  6. she's cute! But I wouldn't walk her either
  7. I was going to point out that she's not a staffie but didn't want to stick my oar in
  8. Some of the replies are nearly as great as the photos :clapper: Keep on keepin' on, Keepa
  9. Wouldn't it depend on the level of deafness tho? If he can hear high pitched sound a whistle and hand signals should work? If he were ferreting (and this is me asking honestly) would the dog not feel the vibrations from underground when the rabbits were bolting? After all his other senses would be much more attuned. Obviously if his sight is severely impaired as well that would put paid to everything tho. Just looking at the picture I can honestly say, pretty as he is I'd have never picked him - as Penny said, Merles with a lot of white are a much higher risk. If both parents were merle,
  10. Cows! Dismal. Horses are ok but cows? There's a bunch of them at the bottom of 'our' hill in Hptn. If they're out when I get to the top of the woods it cuts my walk rather short
  11. Not really come to grips with the macro doodads I got ages ago but I keep trying
  12. Stay off the auto settings ffs! Totally useless lol You've caught the action really well there
  13. Weed is only as bad as you make it. I smoked it for years and years - never got paranoid, never lost my job, never got lazy, never got the munchies, etc etc. I worked all day, came home, had a smoke. And usually, after I smoke I have a resounding urge to clean the house - so my house was always mint! Only problem was I also reorganised stuff and then couldn't find it a week later Or I'd go into a room to do something, get sidetracked and wonder what I'd been in there for in the first place These days, tho, money is tight and I've got three kids to look after so that habit has gone the way of
  14. Brilliant! I've seen them in two places near me but the elusive buggers just don't want to let me catch them with the lens.
  15. 'Scuse me, fine sir, but I think you'll find this is MY side of town and thus, MY spot above Hptn. However, I am quite willing to share if needs must
  16. Had a look at that link ... some of them are mental looking And ya Kittle that's precisely what I thought ... gold leafed. I see loads of frogs in my garden all summer, there's a beck behind me and one of my neighbour's has a pond. But I've never noticed one that colour before.
  17. I thought it was a hover fly but wasn't sure. Not very up on that sort of thing
  18. Okey dokey Millet - what's this then?
  19. Got some of those screw on macro lense things and been having a play with them
  20. Thanks Millet I figured as much - just never seen one so sparkly before! Cam was amazed
  21. This blingy little critter was making a run for it after I cut my over-long grass today. What kind of frog is he please? He's very sparkly and golden!
  22. I tell them that all the time but I don't think they believe me quite yet At the moment I'm Evil Mum because I don't let them watch TV during the day on summer holidays and they think I'm 'well tight' lol And hiya Mag! Long time no see! Hope you and yours are all well ... got any pictures of my favourite boy?
