    Foreshore

Probably going to get shot down in flames, but for what it's worth, If you can gain access to the foreshore without trespass then you are OK. Ain't sure if that's UK but certainly is in Scotland.. I believe by Royal Decree. Now how you gain access is another matter, but a friend and I did it by using a local burn on the Solway. We got right out and did it legally. (I believe). There are one or two legal eagles on here so perhaps they might help.
  2. Ah ha. Sorry pal. Yes we put in a little stock but not much. The spuds, carrots, cabbage etc have retained the moisture but yes add a little. With everything it's trial and error but got results every time. Happy souping.
  3. Eh up Moxy/ You are probably correct. Can't, however, remember that far back. It just seems easier to get a new bar. I wouldn't even see to get a bar paralel. LOL
  4. Noisiest guards I ever had. So much so that my neighbour waited till we were on holiday and , guess what, no more fowl. They do eat very nice though.
  5. Our local Council would just love that LOL. What the heck do you do inside with all that rock?? Presumably you must lay beds or raised beds? like the idea of the air down low and the polythene on top. Good growing prospects.
  6. Slightly off the subject. Same lads dropped me 14 brace of birds so I decided to make liver pate. 650 gms liver, 500 gms pork sausage meat, an onion, seasoning and blended. Streaky bacon lined dish, pour in the mix, cover with more streaky and a couple of slices of fresh orange. In the cooker and hey ho. Absolutely wonderful.
  7. Know what Terryd. I learned a lesson not so long back about the saw pulling to one side. Wouldn't have believed it. Nothing to do with sharpening which I'm fairly adept at. The bar was the problem. One shoulder was slightly more worn than the other which makes the chain Cant over. Result. A horrible banana cut. New bar. Job done.
  8. No need Terryd. Everything in there. Simple.
  9. I remember my old man saying that this is the time of year to cut the ash from banksides. He used to make the nobbler type which was that big bit of rootstock found on ash. He also had already cut the hazel and bundled it for drying. Living on the farm, we also collected the ramshorns which really make the most delightful handles. His favourites were the rising trout and the red squirrel. I'm all for carving from natural stock.
  10. There was only one Barbour jacket and that was, or is, The Northumbria. Can't for the life of me understand buying one today with all the lightweight membrane stuff available. You don't want to do a full day on the hill in Barbour.
  11. Who fed you that load of bullshit??
  12. Get one of these soup kettles folks. All the left over Sunday dinner veg and whatever meat, straight in and 21mins later soup for the week. Simple.
  13. Feck me. That;s like a bungalow round here. Sheep. Don't think so. Romanians definite possibility. At least the Government would pay the rent
  14. Wish I was in your boat. Her indoors buying from Morrisons LOL.
  15. Sorry I didn't know what you mean't . We call it planking.
  16. Out of curiosity, what do you exactly mean by milling with a chainsaw. I'm intrigued.
  17. leegreen. not exactly sure what that meant so really can't comment.
  18. How flipping annoying that little black speck on your lens. Thought everytime it was a bird.
  19. What are you thinking about now pal?? You do tend to duck and dive a bit. When I trained up my Sweep to field Trial Standard, it was day in and day out for 2 years. Even then, although he won a few competitions, it was continuos hard work. Never miss a morning or evening. Annoy the neighbours with your whistle, blank gun and shouted commands. WHAT DO YOU GET AT THE END OF IT ALL. The most amazing feeling of achievement and a bonding that can't be surpassed. Don't know what you are thinking pal but good luck. If you go down that road I'll be there to help.

  21. No EDDIEB. Not that bored. Just done a net of pickling onions. a net of shallots and just to keep the job going started another of onions. Bored. NNNNMoo
  22. Don't know if he means Finished or finessed. I think the deal is that trout will be reluctant to feed as there is or are little in the way of fly and larvae. In comes the worm. As the temperature drops in the water there is a disinclination to feed. Now where we come from that's where the salmon and seatrout come in to there own. Either that or a big dive hanging on to a tennis net
  23. Recipe please. Had the best Mutton pies ever in Lauder. Just been arrested for nicking a fish or two. Got out and there was the butchers. Damn nice. Grease down the chin.
