  1. Didn't know till just now how nice lobster with macaroni is. Wedges and garlic bread. Unusual but very nice.
  2. Hi fireman. Melrose myself. Don' t and can't tell the difference between the makes but say again, one of the best things I've ever had in the kitchenWe had some ham left over as does everyone and I recommended , on here, stovies. However she who needs obeying wants ham soup so away we go again. Doing onion, potatoe, red chilli, ham and loads of seasoning. Should be good with garlic bread I reckon, oh and a nice wine

  7. Terryd .. Not wrong. I did however ask the president who just shrugged and said get on with it. When you make as many pies as I do, any extras are welcome. Have you got your big onion seed in?

  10. Little aside. Had 11 rabbits all dressed in the fridge but had left them maybe slightly too long. Took them indoors much to her ire and decided to cut out the fillets. Made a sauce with onion, red chilli, leek, rose merry, black pepper, salt and Stilton cheese crumbs. Cubed the fillEts and cooked the whole caboodle for 2 hours. Pastry made and 1 hour later the best pies ever. By gum. Bring on the next batch.

We are having it big style now. Went to put the chickens up and needed wellies. Thing is we are not low lying and there isn't a river course anywhere near. Must be hell in Cumbria.
  13. Damned good find, in my opinion. I use them in all my pies if I can find them. Not done anyone any harm as of nowThis warm spell has made a difference though.
  14. Have we a result Rabid?? Are you hallucinating, getting stomach cramps, poisoned or enjoying the blueit
  15. I reckon you should google stovies. This is traditional Scottish dish normally with mutton or belly beef but why not have a go with ham
  16. Thank you Yokel. Knew I had to be right about something.
  17. oh dear. Tea and cakes then? Like I said Live the life.
  18. Go on, live the life. The taste is better than any field mushroom.
  19. It's the white version of the Wood Blueit.. Always growing in gangs and mostly on the edge of woodland. I'd eat it without a hesitation and have cooked many pies etc using same. Cuts like liver which is the best way to have it. Cook in olive oil and have with bacon. This, by the way is only my opinion.
  20. Now. With Christmas out of the way, in Scotland we always look forward to Auld Years Night and that means SOUP (oh and a shit load of whisky). So with that in mind we have lots of leftovers and a soupie. Let's get going.
  21. I've a friend who goes 'close' magic. By that I mean he can be at your dinner table on a night out and he does things that are unimaginable. Now he is not going on TV but what he does is outstanding. Occult? In your funny dreams, The man is a genius with illusion. Just man up and admit the same.
  22. Oh right. The same thing my ferrets get frightened ofLooks like a rabid fox.? Red and dangerous?
  23. Francie. If you were to look at my eyes on a Friday night then I'd be the devil all right
