  18. For your information the nearest Eildon is the Newstead Eildon, middle being the Melrose Eildon and the further most the Bowden Eildon. The area is full of Roman history with Trimontium being in Newstead. Boring I know but heho.

  20. I'll post one from further round the river showing Melrose over the Tweed . To be honest it is my favourite. The picture is from an artist called John Kennedy and is the view from his house called Bona Vista in the village of Gattonside. We owned the local pub, post office and general store with one or two houses. When I bought this picture I was the paper boy for the top side of the village. Also I was the local lad that didn't quite conform to the rules. There was a lovely old guy called Jimmy Clinkscale who taught me the art of taking a fish where one should'nt.   21. Go back and get the river in your pic. That is one of the best beats on the river above Kelso. I could tell you some interesting stories from there and to be fair the beat keeper was lenient. I've just let a friend have a few acres of roe stalking near to there. Jok.
