What I liked about last night's result is that it was played like a testimonial. The only difference is that both teams were full of players nobody has ever heard of instead of players everybody had forgotten about. ?

Isn't that like saying that Sunderland aren't any good because they aren't on MOTD?

If the mole trapper put some traps down and didn't catch then that is their problem not yours. No mole - no fee. If that one mole had been caught then you would have had a bargain ? As others have said. Putanges are perfect for that sort of shallow tunnel, but you could also use Duffus traps if you are sure that they will not get disturbed by kids, dogs, etc.

The Shadows. It is the only album that I know all the words to. In fact, its the only album my wife will let me sing to ?

Macron is the one who will most likely pull the plug on the UK. France isn't as dependent on the UK as is Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain and the countries who receive subsidies and he has plans to change the EU that are not being discussed because Brexit is dominating proceedings. Macron only got in by default and he is highly unpopular in France and may not get in next time. That is one reason he vetoed the expansion plans that would allow Albania and Nth Macedonia into the EU. Macron is on borrowed time and his plans to stride the big stage as Merkel leaves are being held up. He wants the UK

Thomas Cook are having a closing down sale. Perhaps you could get one cheap?

The DUP along with the Irish government, the SNP and half the UK politicians are using Brexit as a cash cow to get concessions in return for their support. End of the day, Europe is scared of a no-deal Brexit and that is the only way to get a good deal.walk away and let them face the wrath of their own business leaders.

You need a cyber-ferret. All the benefits of an ordinary ferret except that you don't have to worry about it exceeding the bolting weight, killing in or it shitting in the hutch. Just remember to keep the batteries charged and the landlord won't know anything about it ?

It was the wet type sold by our local departement d'eau. If you want some I'll send it. It will just cost you postage.

It is Pattex contact adhesive. It is a rubber type glue. You are supposed to smear both surfaces, allow to go tacky and then press them together. This is hard when the gap between the sole and boot is so narrow so I just pumped it in and then put a bottle of water inside the boot to weight it down and keep the contact between the two pieces. Once it had gone off I smeared some more glue into the gaps. I've used it on wading boots and it lasts.

I've had a pair of Hi-Tec walking boots for around 9 or 10 years. They have been used for shooting, beating, fishing, dog walking and for the last 6 years have been my mole trapping boots six or seven months of the year. A couple of months ago the heel started coming away from the boot so I glued it and it has lasted OK. But, to be on the safe side as they had started to let a bit of damp in at the toes I ordered an other pair. They are just as good and really comfortable. Hi-TecTrailstone WP were less than £40. The prices direct from Hi-Tec can be bettered using Amazon or ebay. http

You'll have to explain what the World Cup is ?

One of these or similar. Don't get the ones with the spring loaded door that shuts behind the mice as they only catch one at a time. With the type shown above I hang a couple of Frolicks dog biscuits on a piece of wire and it usually gets multiple catches in the first few days.

Have you been to Turkey? They provide a ring of steel around all the resorts favoured by Western tourists. It is too much of a money earner for them to lose tourism like Tunisia has. But you are right in that the European tourism industry would be a big loser if Freedom of Movement impacted on holiday makers plans. There are a lot of EU industries praying for a deal much the same as exists today. It is the EU itself who would be the biggest losers if there is no deal, but there are two stumbling blocks; Ireland and the border as I mentioned above and the UK Government's preference for the

The Irish issue is the stumbling block to a Brexit deal. Ireland are in the driving seat as to what they will and will not accept regards the border issue. France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Holland desperately want a deal to preserve their trade. But Ireland have the whip hand as any deal will compromise their position. So they are holding out for whatever the EU is prepared to offer them to drop their objections. Hence the winning the lottery remark.

Ireland have won the lottery. They are just deciding how much they have won.

Fried squid rings on the Kelly Kettle! Sounds like heaven. Break an egg into your cup and whisk it. Put some flour into the pan lid along with any pepper or seasoning you prefer. An inch or less cooking oil in the pan and a couple of charcoal briquettes in the fire to maintain a steady heat while you are cooking. Use a fork to dip the squid rings in the egg and then in the flour. Drop it in the hot oil and while it is cooking get another ready and drop it in. You should be able to keep a couple at a time frying. If I'm ever going where there will be a shortage of dry wood I always ta

Had a few hours on the River Vienne today. The river is still too low and clear for my liking, but I did manage to get a rod bent....... There is a large catfish living in those weeds in the middle of of the river. It keeps showing itself whenever I am fishing this swim. It has been there all summer and last summer too. It isn't an easy prospect as the water is snided with weeds and there is a fair current towards the near bank that means the line will have to be elevated. It will take a 30 to 40 metre cast and if hooked there will be as much weight of weeds on the line as fis -
Get a live catch cage trap. You'll mop them up in no time. It will catch multiples every night.

Last season Wolves really surprised many of us. But, as Gnasher has said; they haven't got a deep enough squad to compete in all the competitions. Burnley found that out last season. Last year Wolves had fewer injuries too. I think Nuno played the same 11 for seven weeks. But I think now they have turned the corner and hopefully will again challenge for a top 6 place. Looks like Villa have woken up too.

Mole Patrol has been quiet for the last couple of months. I did a few visits last week to check traps in the few gardens that had problems before I was taken ill and all had been dealt with while I had been off sick. There were some sorry specimens in the traps. Went out yesterday to check on a third of my regulars, one of the three regular routes I do, and all but two had new mole activity. It is a still a little bit too early for the last broods to be turfed out by their Mums so I reckon the new activity will be down to the recent rainfall after three months of drought. Once the youngs

I think there would be more chance of the domestic cat showing up in the leopard's scat ?

Out here they tend to live in wood piles. There are loads of stacked wood piles in remote places and that is where many of them they live. There is a similar species called a stone marten that lives in buildings. We had one in our loft the first winter we lived here. Sounded like a cart horse cantering across the ceiling.

The eel looks a good size. In the olden days that would have made a nice meal. I thought that kitten of mine was an eel the way the line went round and round. It is the second smallest I have had. The littlest was about the size of the gudgeon you sacrificed. A couple of years ago I caught a gudgeon and so took the opportunity to mount it on a wire trace to a 16 treble. Five minutes later..... I'm hoping that the Capella De-Luxe will account for larger specimens in due course. You might have noticed that I have joined the TFF. Whilst looking through the posts I came across
